You make a very interesting point. I never wanted to buy a graphics card - mainly for the price, but also for its vampiric power suction.

From an electricity bill point of view, it's bad when you buy a graphics card. Yes, I want the graphics to render faster, but couldn't they be only 4 or 5X faster than CPU-only and keep the same energy usage, instead of being 30X faster by sucking 10 times the energy usage of CPU-only?

I had been always confused by software advertising (especially Microsoft's). When they say it (i.e. a new version of Windows) would run faster than previous versions, I thought: "Hey! This will work great on my old computer!" - until I saw that the product requirements included the next generation of CPUs. WTF?

Granted, it may be for some of the new CPU instructions that eliminated latency, but still, I felt kinda deceived.

But I'm more inclined to think that there was a methane leak coming from the toilet... "I sprayed the toilet because it smelled". You don't get a huge explosion just because you sprayed some air freshener. There had to be a huge methane buildup in that toilet - which is confirmed by the picture showing the broken toilet. In other words, it was a plumbery issue.

I played the C64 version, and it's very superior to the Atari version.

First of all, the game starts with a text intro telling you to open a Ghostbusters Franchise in your city. MacDonalds, eat your heart out.

Second, they give you a bank account number to add to the replay value. You can purchase a better car because you'll be given more credit.

Third, there's no stairs stage where you have to fight boring ghosts, and not even a Gozer battle stage.. You pass the Stay Puft, you win. And the graphics are very well done (for the time, of course).

That said, I'm still waiting with anxiety for the ghostbusters videogame.
