Engineer tea-billies? That's like gay Republicans, or poor Republicans. It makes no sense, whatsoever. I'm guessing that being such a supposed wunderkind, he never did anything outside of the labs and libraries, and as such, didn't get a well rounded education that enabled him to think on his own.
I don't use any of these social media products, but isn't it possible that the QUALITY of Google + posts are better? If I were reading stuff like this, I'd much rather have a few interesting things to read, than a lot of garbage.
It should be cheaper, but legacy media has no way of measuring the actual number of viewers/listeners, so the numbers have been grossly inflated for many years. Why else hasn't all TV shifted to the Internet, where advertisers can get relatively precise information about the advertising targets and results?
We dropped Mozilla a few years ago after constantly fighting with stability issues on vanilla XP boxes. Did the stability issues follow the project over to the Android platform?
ow long would it take for Microsoft to make Windows a good choice to compete in an open market? Could they survive embracing ODF in Office, releasing their licenses on OS/2, dropping Direct for open hardware interface standards, porting their application software to Linux...?
What a load of garbage. Forbes is all about share price. That's a moronic litmus test of a CEO. Share price has no direct connection, and often not even an indirect connection to a CEO's abilities.
No. Nobody NEEDS to fly. Most places are reachable by other means. It's inconvenient not to fly, but that's your decision: inconvenience, or giving up your dignity. Most people don't value their dignity/self respect all that much.
This article is about trying to convince religious nutjobs that science is valid? WTF is the point of that? People, in 2012, who don't understand the scientific method are hopeless. Ignore them and move on.
The people with the most to lose are the ones like windmill and solar manufacturers that have bet the farm on one horse - and have been handsomely rewarded by fat government loans they skim from until going bankrupt. If we can't panic more people into spending WAY too much for energy solutions (which BTW hardly reduce the CO2 load anyway because of manufacturing) then THOSE companies will fold, and THAT means lots of Green money not going into politicians pockets.
While some of this is probably true, you don't' have any real understanding of the difference in scope. Any one of the fossil fuel companies could buy all of the green energy companies many, many times over. When it comes to politics, there's no question who has the influence. I have to laugh every time I see some Fox drone screaming about Solyndra, yet completely ignoring the billions (trillions) of our tax money gets handed to natural gas/oil every year.
I don't know why all the supposed Slashdot server experts have to muck with their servers so much. I just throw a cheap P4 in a closet and forget about it. If you need to get frequent, fast access to your server at home that's serving.VOB files over the LAN, might I suggest that you're doing something horribly wrong? I have to get to my server once every few years, when there's a hardware failure, or I need to throw some more hard drives in, but other than that, I have no idea why you'd need to rack mount a server for your home. Do all you rack-mounters also have a mechanic's pit beneath your garage for changing your oil, too?
Oh, please. Quit with the taxes=theft thing. Sane adults understand that we need governments and taxes. Ayn Rand/Tea Party silliness isn't based in reality. You'll understand when you grow up and interact with the world a bit more.
AOL still has offices?! I honestly had no idea. Wow. That's got to be a depressing place to work...
An add on to help a memory leak problem? Sweet Jesus, that browser's such a mess. I don't understand why anybody uses it.
Haven't things like Tivo been doing this kind of thing for years now? Is this something new in TV-land?
"That's because putting a keypad on a "laptop" turns it into a huge luggable."
If you have to "lug" around a modern 17" laptop, then I would suggest you get to a doctor immediately.
I'm using some kind of generic HP 17" with a full keypad right now. Like other commenters have said, I think that most 17" laptops have full keypads.

Get a lawyer. But, of course, the lawyer will be prohibitively expensive.
So realistically, no, there's nothing you can do short of terminating service.

Oh, that's hilarious. Good troll.
I tend to agree. The Windows Phone is the best one out there right now. It's not a popularity contest for me, unlike with so many others.

By flying and subjecting yourself to this kind of garbage, you're not really helping things...
And too many people don't understand that money is created and maintained by government. Go try to barter for your next Glen Beck book with seashells.

You couldn't be more wrong. Nobody provides for longer support than Microsoft.

The financial gain/loss by the fossil fuel industry dwarfs any political or economic gains anybody else may have.
You're 100% right.
Unfortunately, most of the US looks like something out of the movie Idiocracy, now. People want to buy shit cheap. That's really all they care about.
The ability to believe dire warnings that benefit someone else without any proof whatsoever.
Right. In this case, it's the fossil fuel industries that have the most to lose. The oil/natural gas companies are the largest, wealthiest, most powerful legal entities on the planet.

Could somebody please translate this wonderful collection of words into English?
But the fact that the second pilot's stick stays in neutral whatever there is input to the other is not a good thing.
It seems like an important sentence, but I have no idea what it means.
