Another "messaging" app that somehow messages differently than regular text messages? Somehow, I doubt that their target market of dim-witted 10 year old kids is going to decide which phone OS's continue into the future.
Hey, thanks US government! Another potentially significant applied scientific breakthrough! I'm really glad that our government spends so much on R&D in order to kill people better. Thanks!
That's silly. "Control". That's what the right wingers are always screaming about. It's absurd. Nobody's interested in "controlling" everybody. Life isn't a fucking comic book.
I don't think it's a matter of "agreeing" or not. It's a matter of people not thinking. People do all sorts of stupid things, like voting for Trump, doing business with Amazon, and of course, using their plastic every time they get a chance. Most people don't think, "If I use this card, it's going to cost this business about 3%. If I use cash, it's going to cost them about 1% (or less)." The plastic companies are certainly thinking about it, which is why they're buying politicians to reduce the usefulness of cash.
It is not about petty crime. It is about control of the common people
Jesus, lots of unfounded paranoia in this thread!
It's about money. Simple as that. Banks get 3% every time some doofus uses a plastic card. It's about Trillions and Trillions of dollars a year. The government doesn't give a shit what kind of bread you buy. You're not that important.
Sorry, but you're wrong. It's about money. 3% is skimmed off the top every time you use plastic. That's TRILLIONS of dollars a year. The government doesn't care what kind of deodorant you buy.
Yeah, it's about control, and using "official" channels to purchase goods and services.
No, it isn't. Put down the InfoWars and the Glenn Beck. It's about money. Credit card companies/banks get 3% of every plastic transaction. It's about trillions and trillions of dollars. The government doesn't care about what kind of cars you buy and sell.
The sole reason why they like automatic payment so much is the cost of handling cash.
Nope. Handling cash doesn't cost 3%. Accepting credit cards does. The credit card companies want this to happen, because then they get 3% of the entire economy.
Either I can spend north of $1000, and countless hours dicking around with a "gaming computer", or I can spend $400 and get a PS4. Hmmm... tough decision...
Am I reading this wrong? Is a version that came out in NOVEMBER 2015 "end of life"? If so, who in their right mind would use this junk for anything important?
Uber is an app. An app that's already written and finished. How the HELL do they burn through so much money? I know that most of the dot-coms are just robbing the dumb investors, but to lose this amount of money is truly astonishing.
Seriously Windows phone is less than 3%. The only thing keeping it in the vicinity of relevant is the money that Microsoft spends marketing it.
I know that I couldn't care less how many other people use Windows Phone. I use it because it's a better product.

I'm familiar with it. Sometimes, opinions are just wrong.

Your "opinion" is stupid, wrong, and destructive. People who hurt other people (Trump voters) deserve derision and scorn.
Hang on... are you saying that you DON'T think that you eat like shit? Really?
Oh, "the Left". The oh-so-repressive Left. Yes, so much "hate" from the Left. Boy, that Bernie Sanders sure is hateful... [rolls eyes]
Oh yeah, Black Lives Matters oppresses you. Right. *yawn*
I'm a libertarian, who will most likely vote for Trump
Fuck you, asshole.
My software company has just ruled out all future Windows development.
I call bullshit, AC.

Chip and pin and contactless are the same price. It's all about 3%.

They already can, if you have a bank account.

Handling cash as a merchant does not entail fees, per se, but it does entail costs.
Those costs are nowhere near the 3% that credit card companies charge.
The sole reason why they like automatic payment so much is the cost of handling cash.

Sounds neat if it comes with Windows Phone. Android OS is a mess to use.

Dickie Burr wants to make it a crime? Well, good luck throwing a corporation in jail there, Dickie, you moron.
FWIW, I use a Windows Phone now, and they couldn't pay me to use an iPhone. Those things are horrid.
