This is of course a useless point since you CAN find computer without OS very easily in France.

Causality does not imply responsibility. Maybe hundred thousands died in Burma because I yawned a month ago. That doesn't make me responsible.

Alternatively I could ask the cab tomorrow : "make a right after all". And bam, he'll hit someone. My opening my mouth to give direction belongs in a causal chain leading to this death. It doesn't make me responsible.

Responsibility comes when the action you did was intrinsically a crime (regardless of the consequences).

    - "Just be yourself" helps, but definitely not for the reason people will tell you it does. It doesn't help you initially, in fact it probably harms you if you're reading this. However, in the long run (even a matter of hours, day) there's no way you can't avoid being yourself, it oozes out. Thus, not being yourself only deceives you into thinking you have a chance, and makes you lose time. Being yourself is a useful time saver.

    - If it's going to work you'll know almost immediately. If you're wondering then the answer is "no", it won't work. It has to be obvious.

    - You can't 'win' a girl by convincing her. Maybe you can, but it's generally not worth the effort. People do this because they watch movie. It doesn't work. And you can't escape an explosion by jumping either. Don't. Keep it simple.

One elegant way around is to require people who make genetic tests to report that a person has underwent a genetic test (without revealing the result). That way, someone may prove his insurer that he his unaware of his own risk and he is insurable. Once you're insured you can then take the test to make prevention. Another way is to require people to be insured to take a genetic test. However I believe it is morally unacceptable to require that (albeit much better than a compulsory socialist insurance scheme).
