This is a very interesting development. If you watch the movies (especially the movie with balloon popping, I think its the third movie), you will see that this is an extremely accurate capture of the event. I would be interested to see how this could present itself in a regular consumer atmosphere...multiple cameras would not exactly make the cut. But yes, it does give a good idea on how to use the 100TB tape drives
From reading the forums, it seems that the majority of his customers appear not to be spammers. Rather they appear to be administrators of "newsletters" that the recepient has voluntarily and knowingly signed up for.
There were a few suspicious posts about "changing SMTP reply-to address" posts, but that is expected, most illegal activities done in the world require the use of legal tools.
After doing a Google of "MailList King", there unfortunately seems to be an abundance of sites that have his software for download. On the official website, you must pay first, so it appears he has quite a bit of copycats/pirates to track down.
I know cleansoftware.org is for daily use applications, but I cannot consider a day complete without firing up the ol' multiple arcade machine emulator. Its free and has no spyware. And its awesome.
It is unclear how much input MS has into Bluetooth, however Microsoft is certainly involved with it. It is commonly thought that Bluetooth is proprietary technology owned by one company, however the real case is that Bluetooth is a specification for a wireless technology owned by members of the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG).
Nokia, IBM, Ericsson, Intel, and Toshiba were the founding members in 1998. Today there are thousands of members, but note that on the board of directors section of the webpage, Jeff Kosar is the Product Unit Manager and he is from Microsoft Corp. However I'm not going to blame Microsoft automatically for the problem if there are 2000 or more companies contributing to the technology.
If you kept up with all his changelogs, you would've seen that he's been sick for quite awhile actually. He was seeking treament and did lots of research on his sickness for quite a long time, this isn't just "he was sick last week, now he's ok".
Do you think the crackers will also be prohibited from using the Internet for a certain period of time after their release, sort of like what happened to Mitnick?
I knew that Halo 2 was going to grab first place in best FPS, beating Half-Life 2.
For anyone who has played both games, it shouldn't have been to hard to tell which one was better. Even if you didn't think HL2 lived up to the hype, the havok physics engine had alot more uses and was much better put to use in HL2 than in Halo 2. The gameplay and AI was much better, the design was much better. And and top of that it was alot more fun. Even all the Halo 2 fans over here dropped their jaw and were quite content even in just watching me play Half-Life 2. The only thing Halo 2 has over HL2 is its multiplayer system.
Not necesarrily complaining, of course Halo 2 was going to win because it was better known and more people were able to play it (and the whole $$$ factor), but its just another example of how this award show is like every other award show on TV.
I have found Konqueror to not be supported by many websites, including such as gmail.com. I also find Mozilla to be quite wonderful in Linux. I have never seen a pop up, and the only time it crashes is very rarely when I'm watching a bunch of flash movies (hey I'm allowed to do that!)
'It's an easy choice for me--to run Microsoft technology. We don't run Unix. We don't run Linux.'
From what I remember from nmapping www.microsoft.com years ago was that they were running that on OpenBSD. As it has been said before in previous comments, that quote is a wee bit inaccurate.
Perhaps but I am not too offended by seeing a Linux distribution being shown on slashdot. I would have loved to used Mandrake in the past but their latest distros were giving me lots of problems in detecting my SATA hard drive.
Has anyone had similiar problems, and has it been fixed with the new release?
Could you please elaborate? I fail to see how a revolution for the purpose of implementing a Communist government into its society would lead to a Democratic government being put into its society. If you were just joking, sorry!
If I was in windows I totally would not touch this thing, because any program that does something you can normally do (maybe not as easily, but you could still do it) has to be loaded with some kind of spyware, and this is hard to deny if it requires an install on your box...I mean why wouldn't yahoo benefit off knowing what you're tastes, hobbies, and personal information are?
I'm not too sure that it would that much easier for the blind to have to use these small flash cards. It's probably little bit easier for them to locate and handle a CD than a tiny card.
Its doubtful that all papers will be going this route, there is still profit to be made. As much as I read news online, you cannot beat a real newspaper simply because you read it on the fly. Only until more people own laptops and/or PDA's will we notice a significant overhaul of newspaper companies I think.
It contains some sarcasm perhaps, but I think its being serious. To protect the integrity and security of the company that you are working for, it is really not that much to ask for. And with proper training and time put in to make people do this, I think it can be done.

I totally agree with you. Why wasn't this modded up?
Good luck buddy.

Ahh, they're obviously worried about malicious images like .jpg.vbs. Or perhaps malicious looking images hehe.
According to the article, it isn't OS-dependent, rather it seems to function in a browser, not as a standalone program.
I guess that rules out links, w3m, and lynx.
Think it works with Firefox or Mozilla?

True, however in the case of Walmart they are not necesarrily an institution that promotes any sort of competition, at least in Walmart's industry.
Man, always thought my computer had no trouble winning against my brain in terms of speed.
Well, since Linux is a free OS there may be a very high chance that the deductions from the income are not alot.
Nice to hear he's ok now tho.

Wonderful to know since I'm in college right now for Computer Engineering....

lol that's hilarious because when you posted that my hair was extremely messed up
So yay, more spyware, rock on yahoo.
