What is this insurance you speak of? In my socialist hell hole we cannot be denied coverage, meaning things like this makes healthcare better, more effective, potentially cheaper (rarely do things get cheaper in this socialist paradise though..) and probably saves lives..
The beauty of this whole thing is that they will then use the low sales on the PC to justify cutting the platform for their next game, as obviously all PC gamers are pirates, who refuse to buy their awesome game.. It isn't PC gaming that is dying, it is PC games, but I guess the few companies that understand this stand to make quite a bit of money as the competition shoot themselves in the foot one by one..
As long as someone is willing to sit and watch someone play a game, why wouldn't there be basis for a pro-gaming? Would you like to advertise directly to 1.000.000 16-25 year old males that play a lot of games, and buy a lot of hardware? Well then pro-gaming is where it is at, and you can get some really cheap well targeted advertising. When the advertising dollars are there, the rest is easy.
Well since you ask, http://www.hltv.org/ - I do believe my servers will keep up just fine though..:)
But note that you cannot watch matches without having Counter-Strike installed, which in turn makes the spectator numbers even more impressive if you ask me..
You must be an expert, because the users, more than 200.000 unique a month, on my site that is dedicated to broadcasting Counter-Strike matches, sure beg to differ with your conclusion..
Well, maybe Valve decided that if they were going to port some features for the dedicated server, they might do them all when they were at it.. But no one but Valve will know..:)
steamclient_linux.so is used by the dedicated linux servers to connect to steam and check for updates and such, it was probably just included by mistake..
I don't think you know how research works in Denmark where I live, the state is funding basic research, not the health care system, I am having a hard time seeing how you can key these two together? And I fail to see why we are bringing the EU into this? I have no idea about research results, but I very much doubt that the US single handily does all the research in the world, but as I have no sources to back this up I wont comment on it. My point however is that I don't care about results for the EU, Denmark is a sovereign state, we are not part of some "united states of Europe" country, so please just keep it to my country..
Oh give me a break, because I know you did not just call a Scandinavian country poor.. Hell, I actually even worked for the bioinformatics department at my university, but I guess none of our published articles are worth anything.. And of course a country of 300 million will churn out more research than a small nation with 5 million inhabitants, but we do our fair share of research.. Long story short, we can afford all the health care we need, including DNA screening... And I actually do not see your link between nationalized health care, and money invested into research, what exactly do those two have to do with each other? The taxes we pay to the state that goes into research have nothing to do with our health care system, as it is not the state that runs that..
How I pity the citizens of what they themselves call the greatest nation on earth, how can you not see the benefit of research into DNA? How can you live with a health care system that is so broken that you fear the very breakthroughs that can save your live some day?
All the (socialist as I am sure McCain would call us) countries of the world will gladly have all citizens screened for various DNA predispositions, you know why? Because we can use it to make health care cheaper, if we can prevent diseases we save a ton of money, if we can catch cancer and other diseases before they spread, we save a ton of money, oh and lives will most likely be saved as well, not that that seems to have anything to do with healthcare in the USA..
I honestly do pity anyone that has to fear their own health care system..
It isn't designed just to work on those, they just haven't done others yet. When building a VM it is bad to start out having to support 10 different architectures as it requires you to test them all for every little change you do. It also requires that all developers know these architectures very well if they are to do proper changes.
Besides V8 is probably the most portable thing there is in Chrome, it already works on Linux, OS X and Windows, and they provided two different architectures, making it much easier to do a 3rd and a 4th for anyone who should wish to do so.
How do i know this? Because Lars Bak who leads the V8 team happens to be teaching my VM course, and a guy asked that specific question.
They are never on public servers, they play 5vs5 only, and trust me, you do not stand a chance... And you yourself wrote that you'd watch other sports because you lacked talent, but you will not accept that you lack the CS talent..?
Sure you need to know the maps, but as a European who did not grow up with a sport like NFL, trust me, it takes a long time to get a clue as to what on earth is going on.. First after many matches are you able to enjoy the game... It is of course the same for these games, you need to know what is going on to be able to enjoy it..
Uhm, trust me, against the best CS player, you also lack the talent... People wants to watch the best, you do not do that on a random FFA server, hell the beauty of competitive CS gaming is pretty complicated, it is not like it is a 20 player FFA server.. No the 5on5 matches the pros (yes they make a living doing this..) play has all the elements that other sports have too, individual skill, teamplay, tactics and so on.. People can be as ignorant as they will, but if they take their time and learn the rules (like any sport you spectate require), they can enjoy watching competitive CS...
Uhm, so how about the ESWC that offers the greatest amount of money every year, besides that there are plenty of other events the Eurocup in CS has a $7500 first prize, and that is just an online cup.. And if you think sponsors only pay for the trips you are again mistaking, stop trying to play experts if you do not have a clue, why would a team go on a promotion tour in asia if all they got was a $700 trip twice a year? You know the trip for ESWC and WCG is not even paid by the teams right?
HLTV.org is my site yes, but it is merely a portal, HLTV was completed by Valve back in June 2001 where I saw the first demos of it.. HLTV.org has nothing to do with the development of HLTV (Sadly)..:)
Hm, I could have sworn that HLTV, done by Valve does just this, and that it has been out for the past 5 years.. And not only that, then i also happen to run the biggest portal for HLTV doing exactly what Microsoft wants their portal to do.. I wonder if my 4 year old portal is now patented, and i should be paying royalties to Microsoft.. Good thing I live in Europe I guess:-)
Who said i only lost $100? I my case it was way more, but the google TOS does not allow me to disclose anything about that.. So what more than my word can i give you? My site rely heavily on peaks, sometimes one weekend will bring in the same amount of clicks (and pageimpressions) as an entire month, during such a peak we were closed all of a sudden with "click fraud" being the reason, we then contacted google and made them aware that there must have been some kind of mistake, they then send some email which said their algorithm was proprietary and that i was just shit of luck..
"Please note that due to the proprietary nature of our algorithm, we cannot disclose any details about how our monitoring technology works or what specifics we found on your account."
So what do you expect me to write? How can i prove it to you?
Sure, but clearly i am not the only one this has happened to, and i know for a fact that i did not cheat in any way.. So what am i suppose to think? I wrote them and gave them a chance to explain their actions, they replied with some standard reply that was worthless, so i do not care how much you love google, their business ethics are questionable at best.. But like i said, i doubt there is anything i can say to make you people not love google unconditionally..
Hm, then I guess I am not the only one that has happend to then, but hey, with the TOS and the Google worship going on what good will complaining about it do..

If you got B on the second run you'd be pretty sure it was incorrect.. ;-)
The Ctrl+Tab functionality is still there, they just removed the new interface that they had added in beta 1..

Unless you create a new free account and register your key with that..?
Okay, so save your money, and then when you need the drug you die, too bad..

Get a clue before you attempt to sound smart..

Did you care to look at the new yonah, which uses less power at 100% than the amd counterpart does at idle? I guess not... Sigh fanboys..
