From the door escapes a giant monster. The giant monster grabs you by the collar, smashes you against a wall, and shouts "STOP USING STUPID WORDS, LIKE GRAFEDIA OR BLOG".
Wait, but you haven't heard the best part--if you get some firewood, a match, and a fan, you too can have a really cheap heater for the winter weather!
First person to do it and put up a website about it will win the rights to a blurb on the front page of Slashdot!
Technically, if PCs are going for $300 and a Mac goes for $500, that's about 1.666 times more expensive, which rounds up to 2 times more expensive. However, the amount of money represented by that factor is much smaller.
You may be modded funny, but in truth, I think us lefties have a natural advantage when it comes to such games. Although it bugs other people to use my computer, I always have the mouse on the left and use the numeric keypad for directional controls. It's pretty convenient not only because the buttons are nicely lined up, but it's surrounded by other buttons that are good for reload, jump, duck, etc.
Also, the keys that are further away (+, enter, and 0) are bigger, so they're pretty handy too.
Couple that in with the whole left-brain/right-brain debate, and I'd be pretty interested to see statistics on the winners/losers and their handedness...
1. Identify holes in current software 2. Release patches that only fix some of the holes 3. Start charging for tools to take care of the rest of the holes 4. Profit!
(If you're from Indonesia, no problem, the software will only cost $1 anyways)
For me, the funny thing was that I had to use Knoppix to install Linux. Windows doesn't come with any decent partitioning software, and QTParted on Knoppix provides a GUI-based partitioning system that even handles NTFS drives. Without that, I'd have had to buy Partition Magic or something to make room for my first Linux installation (which I like very much).
Actually, I think I'd prefer to have this kind of data for the DARPA Grand Challenge "game"...if they did 3-D mappings of all the possible routes, then that'd make for a pretty easy race...
Just be careful, because if you somehow end up moving the flashlight back and forth in a straight line, it looks like a lightsabre, and that could be quite dangerous.
Even in 5 years, LCDs probably won't be popular, and even CRTs will be antique.
Because in 5 years, real software developers will simply shove a big metal electrode rod into the back of their skull and read the ones and zeros directly in a greenish tint.
Oh, and I've got first dibs on the open source project to teach kung-fu.
In that first image, "road", you can see the reflection of a truck or some other vehicle in the front fender...given the position of the car on the road, I'd say it's about to crash, no?
"The story would follow the Jedi regaining control of the universe from the many Dark Lords some 88 years before Anakin Skywalker ever graced the universe."
"However, Lucas, now age 60, says he won't be captaining such a ship if it ever happens"
Can you blame the guy? I wouldn't want to captain a ship built some 88 years ago either...

Who needs porn when you're allocated 10 wives?
I make it shorter...here's a quote from the article:
"The world simply isn't black-and-white, and I recognize a lot of grayness. I often find black-and-white people a bit stupid, truth be told."
Basically, what Linus is saying here is
"Only a Sith deals in absolutes"

Nope. Accodring to Microsoft, it's the open source software that is being written by one million monkeys.
They should check with Al Gore before they do anything that could break his internet...
I know the process!
1. Identify holes in current software
2. Release patches that only fix some of the holes
3. Start charging for tools to take care of the rest of the holes
4. Profit!

Overall, I suppose it was a positive experience.

You might be onto something--if that logic applies to everything, then stories are more important if they're a dupe.
So Timothy was right all along...
Cause it's the cool thing to do, that's why.
Anyone else who thinks otherwise should be pun-ished. Case closed.
He said "old" computer cases, which makes Korea more suitable, as I understand it...

If the problem is the hidden-yet-growing costs of consultants, I think we can solve this by
1. Outsource consulting to India.
2. Due to labor shortage, India re-outsources back to us
3. ????
4. Profit!

Of course not...that was just a misplaced reference.
What really helps is eating OTHER's brains. You konw, that Hannibal fella was really quite brilliant. Coincidence?
Actually Obi Wan can do much better than that--anyone who's seen ROTS has witnessed an emperor aging about 40 years within a matter of minutes.
On a timescale like that, "a long, long time ago" may have been just last week...
Lucas: Where is my Star Wars empire? It is safe, is it alright?
Emperor: I'm afraid it died...it seems in your greed, you killed it.
Lucas: I couldn't have! It was alive! I felt it! It was alive! It's impossible!

Clouded, the future is.
If with George Lucas you speak, clouded, the past is too.
It's ok, sounds like he's on a path to crygoenically freeze himself before he dies...
