I can see the point he is making here. The SNES versions looked better, you didn't have to deal with the NES crapping out if you bumped the console, you had the bad-ass new 6-button controller that didn't poke you in the hands, and a lot of people bought the All Star collection even though they already had an NES and the old carts. Oh, I think he left out Mario 64 and Mario sunshine (shudder...) because they are 3D. He is totally writing an opinion piece though, and some of them are pretty dumbish. "This is fairly innocuous (they can't stop a screen capture), but it still bothers me a bit that a company whose motto is "Do No Evil" is dabbling in DRM" How is this DRM? What right is it managing? The right to get on the internet and print pages from a book that you dont own? I would be more worried that google is gonna get all embroiled in lawsuits with publishing companies, which would suck. This is a pretty cool feature. Oh, btw, it is a 1x1 gif stretched to the size of the scanned book page and placed on top of it, the actual scanned page is a non repeating background image.

  11. Easily Circumvented Copy Protection on Google Launches Google Print · · Score: 2, Informative

OK, I know that google says on the FAQ that the ability to print and copy images on their book pages is disabled, and if you re-enable the context menu, you just get a clear 1 by 1 image if you try to copy it, but it makes it pretty pointless if you can just go to view->source, find this section:

    ".theimg { background-image:url("http://print.google.com/prin t?id=[really long semi-gibberish name]")"

and copy the url, obtaining a plain image that you can do whatever you want with... uhm, within the law, of course!

I am also excited about this game. I heard you can drop a hemi in the golf cart, remove the governer, add some aero, and get 0-60 times of less than 2 seconds due to the low weight. The Kawasaki Ninja Golf Bag looks pretty cool too, but I am concerned about the possible lack of realism. I mean, golf bag wheels are pretty small, and the cloth might catch on fire. The game I am really looking forward to, however, is Rockstar's "John Madden's Pro Bikini Auto Thief Kombat Kopter". I heard the fatality that Madden performs involves him stripping down and peeing fire. Awesome and sexy!

They also post a lot of comments with titles like "Frist Psot" or "Important!" about Grits, Natalie Portman, goat sex, and something called GNAA. Damn turtles... screwing everything up, Linking to nasty pictures, modding me down for stupid comments like this one, eating all the hot grits, eating celebrities... That way, when they park their cars sideways on the corkscrew in Laguna Seca, I can kick them in the nuts instead of yelling/typing at them. Seriously though, I have always enjoyed single player GT more than multiplayer, and I am kind of glad that they are releasing these as different games. I doubt I will buy the online version.

wait... Where does it say this thing is broken open? TFA at ABC says "radiation levels here were from seven to 10 times higher than normal". That does not seem to be very dangerous when you look into it a little. Natural background radiation is about 1.5 mSev a year, 10 times which would be 15 mSev/yr. Radiation sickness and long term cancer risks begin around 50 mSev in a shorter period of time. You may be thinking radioactive contamination.
From Wikipedia: Radioactive contamination means the distribution in an environment of radioactive material. This differs from direct radiation because the radioactive material may be moved around by wind or water, or it may be taken up by organisms.
