Well obviously for overall computer operation SLI'ing is probably the last thing on the list. But, as PC Gamer's The Vede pointed out in the March 2005 issue you can get top of the line frame rates with an SLI'ed system.
They tested a system with two 6800 Ultras SLI'ed together and raised the specs of Far Cry to full on -- they turned everything to the max. AA, AS etc. Average frame rate? 60 FPS. Compare that to a system with just one 6800 and you only got 21 FPS.
Like the original submission said, SLI'ing cards is only really for the hardcore gamer in all of us. I get by fine on High settings in Far Cry. AA is really overrated to me.
With what little understanding we have of Universe, I seriously wonder if this ties in any way to the Tsunami. Remember, it happened only hours before this was "recorded", depending on where you were on this planet.
Either that or God was just drinking too much of the haterade.;)
I think I missed something. But ok, what I was saying is that any business can deny service to anyone they want. Just because they exist doesn't mean that they are obligated to do business with you.
And yes, if they didn't want to deal with me because I were black / hispanic / jew / whatever they have that right. They'll be out of business and in court before you can say racism, but they do have the initial right.;)
Gun control - What is insane is putting government in total control of your safety.
But back to the global warming, I just don't see how humans have a major impact. Mt. Saint Helens released methane equal to traffic jams for the next 5 years, and this is per day. I think that if we really want to control the climate we need to eradicate all of the volcanos and take out the real threat: The Sun!;)
Right. But I highly doubt that this device was PS/2-oriented.
I haven't really heard much about the actual device that was used so we can all speculate about what was actually used. Someone below this reply stated that if it were USB then it is possible to still connect it with a dongle that is already attached to a computer.
Still highly unlikely considering that all of the classrooms at Clements do not have any USB dongles connected, nor any USB hubs in use.
If you're from Houston then check out Katy ISD. They have top notch security measures. Not to say that it isn't breakable but it is definitely well protected compared to most government or public organizations.
I have worked there here in Houston. Trust me when I say that it really isn't the student that should be prosecuted, rather the IT staff and their failure to secure public property through security.
This kind of thing is all too common when you give a student in high school full administrator access to your entire network and then expect them to behave on the "honor system".
Thankfully I am no longer a part of that weak IT infrastructure. But in all honesty, it was just a disaster waiting to happen. And tomorrow I am willing to bet that the students are right back on the system.
You would think that this kid would have just done the smart thing like all the other kids do: Go into the gradebook program and change the grade when the teacher leaves the room (since they don't even protect their machines by locking them when they leave).
Viva anarchy!
Can you put up a link to this? Where did you hear about this at? If the rights really do fall back to the original creator then there is yet hope indeed!
True, but that is why I just replace the edited files when I want to connect. Since I don't really play any of the online games I see no real reason to worry.
No, he says that global warming is a liberal myth and goes on about Kyoto.
Just download the offline patch

Steam Users Steamed

I bought the game and installed it. Yep, works great. Yet I hated that it took what seemed forever to connect to Steam just to play Half Life 2.
Enter the offline patch. A hacked.exe of HL2 that will let you play without ever connecting to Steam.
Sorry, but if I purchase a game for my personal machine and the game that I choose to play has no need for the Internet then that is the way it should be.
That is probably what the biggest threat of this software is.
It just begs the question, "Did the MPAA, a group of the top record and entertainment compaines in the world, release this software purely to try to purge all digital files on your machine in order to increase sales on their inferior CD / DVD products?"
With the way that entire business model is run, I would have to answer yes. But then again I'm a Republican so I might just be paranoid.;)

Is that if they really did edit your submission they directly quoted the entire first paragraph of the link in your original submission.
AHHHHHHHH
The REPUBLICAN ATTACK MACHINE is almost at full force! Soon you will feel the power of the dark side! (c'mon laugh, you know you want to)

But that has nothing to do with this. Wine is developed for Linux, a competing company. This is just simple business, though a bad move by Microsoft.
You're comparing software with racism?
;)

While I disagree with the action, Microsoft does have the right to not allow "service" to whomever it wants as a business.
Will Wine fight back? Hmm...
"... other global disastors happening.. or waiting to happen.. Illiteracy ..."
Sounds like we're too late.

You do realize that it costs precious oil and coal to produce the Hydrogen needed right?
Right. But I highly doubt that this device was PS/2-oriented.

Yea. Posting half-drunk is no way to talk on /. =P
They still don't have any security. Weak.

If Windows were properly locked down (ala User rights for students) then Windows wouldn't be able to properly detect and use said hardware device.
Don't even get me started on the amounts of Spyware all over that district.
I don't think it helps much that the web development staff can't seem to spell either (notice where the Technology Department is)...

Concerning the topic though, I haven't really seen much coverage either way. I have heard more hype about the PSP over the DS however.
I've never heard of such blasphemy! You must hate America!
What is that link supposed to link to? Looks like it links to a hosting service.
Or am I misunderstanding the intent of the editor?
They are only pirated in the first place because they are already banned. Now they are cracking down on the ones that slipped through their fingers.
