    open proxies are harder to find. you can't simply click "next next finish" and be good to go. if you think using your ISP's proxy is anonymous you're very naive.

    Installing XP SP2 (which includes IE SP2) has resolved a tonne of browser problems for me and a lot of windoze techs that I know. No I don't mean spyware/adware, I simply mean corrupted browsers that won't display forms properly, or have DLL problems etc.

    Lastly, how many people can you think of running pirated WindozeXP that were so impressed with the product that they bought it?


    No one.. but I know plenty of people that priated it and then were cut off by SP1 and SP2 so they went out and bought it.

    you do realize that LOCAL can mean public.. yes if you're on 192.168.0.0/16 its a private IP, but if your on a cable modem with no router you would be allowing anyone on your subnet ping you.. If you can't ping a client from your server it's your own fault. You can fully control the XP2 firewall using group policy to disable it when it is truly LOCAL

    I believe he's actually referring to a Windows 98 bug that has been fixed for over 5 years now.

    Oddly searching for "windows 98 reboot bug" brought up way too many irrelevant references.. who would have guessed that windows, reboot, and bug would be on the same page?

    You don't HAVE to buy it. If you take the movie back they will refund the purchase, and charge you a small "restocking fee". You don't have to pay any late fees, and you don't HAVE to buy the movie. You simply have to pay a restocking fee.     The problem with this is that it does not solve the warez problem that the ASP was designed to do. If you can run it in an "offline" mode, then you can download a copy and fill your offline cache and not pay for the software.
