with IBM is pushing linux, I can't see microsoft ditching their good buddy Intel, and throwing money at IBM by porting windows to run on the Cell processor. I would guess that this would allow Intel to retain their market share, even if the Cell is infact a far superior processor.
Its even easier to not seperate your garbage and recyclables, which is what the majority of people do. A deposit gives people a small incentive, which is better than nothing.
While you're at it, put deposit on recycleable containers (juice, beer, milk) for god's sake.. it pains me to go to a party in washington (and other states), and see case after case of empty beer cans thrown in the garbage. I understand that unintelligent people can't figure out the difference between deposit and another tax, but thems the breaks. http://www.container-recycling.org/glassfact/decli ne.htm
its a pretty sad state of affairs when you have to specify that BC is a province. Oh well, at least you didn't have to explain that a province is "kind of like a state, but canadian"
i'm having a "similar" problem. complete cisco VoIP, whenever the stateful firewall is enabled and someone on the LAN uses FTP the phone system crashes.. cisco is "working on it" and we're considering sending the system back to them.
not if you include the "connection fees" and "maintenance fees" that all low rate calling cards seem to have. plus there's the fact that you have to GO buy the card.. outside is scary
Not really this makes no difference. Outlook Express is still free, and you've always had to pay for Outlook.

Can I access my Netscape WebMail or Hotmail accounts through Thunderbird?
No. Netscape WebMail and Hotmail use proprietary protocols. To access WebMail directly through an e-mail client requires you to use Netscape 6+ with AIM; to do so with Hotmail requires either Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express. There are also freeware applications available that will let you do the same thing, such as Hotmail Popper.
ISP's don't provide 250Mb of email, and if you change ISP's you lose your email address. That's one of the benefits of a "hotmail" is that you're not locked to a certain ISP. I Know people that have stayed with dialup simply because they didn't want to go through the process of changing their email.
I have "friends" that download a lot of movies, but only download screeners. For an increasing number of movies it takes quite a while for the screener to become available. With this system you can watch great quality movies at home instead of having to go find a theatre. I think its a step in the right direction. I'm sure they're not targetting for the guy with a 5 year old CRT, but rather people with TV Out cards, and/or pretty LCD screens.

hey, if americans are stupid enough to vote 2 bushes in, they might as well vote another one in.
We have an IP KVM at each of our offices http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process ?Merchant_Id=&Section_Id=201720&pcount=&Product_Id =152988 and hung off the KVM is a modem. You can control multiple KVM's behind the IP KVM and configure hotkeys for each of your KVMS. This enables us to control all of our servers from our laptops when we are at the site, and when we are not. If the internet goes down it also gives us the ability to dial in to the KVM and do maintenance. They're under $1000 CDN and we've had great successs with them. They also keep the ps/2 ports on the server live, so if we have to plug a keyboard and mouse in locally we can (without having to do that annoying reboot). Just a forwarning they say it can have two serial devices attached to the device, we've only ever had success with the one port.
That's what it appears to be, does anyone was the author the original developer, and and/or did he started the spinoff? There have been quite a few arguments about jumping on board the project and then spinning it off, etc..
I like how you chose to use the wording are intended to be do-everything monsters. The gimp may have good intentions, but that's where the comparison between Photoshop and the Gimp should end.
i see where you're going, but i disagree. sure it might make the guy with tinfoil on his head switch to something OSS because he doesn't want to activate his software, but for average people online activations work a good percentage of the time (this is software we're talking about, not halflife 2) and when they don't they pop up a phone number, and the person happily calls it.
sure, people will be curious the first time they see one, but they've most likely already activated windows XP.
this is why you use http://www.ratemyprofessor.com/ when laying out your timeline. other students are sometimes wrong, but when 10 reviews say that the teacher is an ass, and marks hard, then they aren't usually wrong.
as for your murderered comment, i'd say you should seek help

I haven't gotten any of those funky multicolored coasters in the mail for a while, I hope this means that AOL will start sending them out again!
someone posted a picture of an unattractive female next to his contact information at the bottom of the page.. someone should let him know.

While you're at it, a built in grammar and spelling checker wouldn't hurt :p
I'm surprised that "Fake" didn't show up more. I see this all the time.

doesn't this mean that if I lived in california I could go out, buy software, copy the cd, and then take it back?
seems like its an incentive for companies to implement online activations, hardware keys, etc.
there's also nothing forcing you to sign up for your own account, when you can use http://www.bugmenot.com/
