I had a p2 400 with 320 megs of ram and a Voodoo2 paired with a Riva 128 (I think).
After an insane amount of tweaking, I ended up getting an average of 50-60 fps at 800x600 without any serious loss of visual quality in CS1.3. Thats better fps average than I got when I upgraded to a p4 1.8 with a gf3ti500 (in the beginning, fixed it eventually).
This is why the appointed judges are supposed to be reasonable to both sides. In theory this should lead to a balanced court, but it seems it just leads to stubborn politicians.
This is why I've stopped reading anything about WoW other than release dates and such. I don't want my experience spoiled by all the information that is out there.
They already have some of this working in the beta (very little). Each player's forum avatar has their character and level. I don't know if they are going to expand on that though.
Actually the idea is a very solid one, but it doesn't really work for any game that currently exists. Football, baseball (wow would that be boring), and soccer all would have positions that would be completely lame to play.
You would have to invent a game that gives equal yet different participation to all players in the game. I would think something similar to lacrosse/hockey. Neither of those games are really suited for online control of individuals though, and if fatigue were to be in the game people would complain b/c they couldn't play as long as they want.
A game like this would be ideal for xbox live though, with build in voice commmunication.
I'm actually finding some of these to be useful now that I've started to work on a project of my own and need at least a basic understanding of many of the things that have been reviewed lately
Bah, voting for Badnarik isn't throwing away my vote, especially where I live. I live in a fucking non state where we evidentally don't even have the right to keep our own laws. Kerry is going to get our 3 electoral votes no matter what, so voting for a major party is worthless compared to supporting a 3rd party.
Oh, and you forgot a step:
2.5. Spend lots of time/cash on promoting the act.
This step should be included in both your problem and your solution.
One solution to helping small artists advertise and promote products is to create a website similar to the big gaming websites like gamespy (but with no intrusive ads). The site would have extensive front page staff reviews of each and every member musician and their albums, as well as large library of example music or even complete albums from those artists (the musicians would have to help with the bandwidth bill).
I have not seen any websites that have tried that so extensively, so if hyped enough such a website could probably get alot of support.
The collectors edition comes with a free month, so it only costs $65.
I bought Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire at 00:20 the day it came out, and finished it by 9:30 that morning.

Where do you get a Usability Design/HCI major?

The only times I ever click a DoubleClick ad is when I'm surfing the web at work and one pops up under my mouse.
Compared to Google AdWords, which I use all the time, DoubleClick ads are just annoying. I even use the gmail ads.

The people watch the government? What?
I for one welcome our new nyud overlords.
There will be a day when all of slashdot shall bow to them, and use their sevices for better faster internet and linkage!
They ended up having to seed the movies off their home connections b/c all you leeches don't seed.
The problem with that is that many non slashdotters might think that that is two words, and immediately stop using the program.

Wireless too!
