"How do you prevent foreign interests from manipulating your population over the internet?"

Ideally through an education that allows people to make up their own minds, and though "education" could be considered a form of propaganda I mean an education that is open and teaches people to think for themselves.
Of course that requires your society being one that free thinking people want to support =)

The easier way is better propaganda on our side, you have to admit it's pretty hard to beat Hollywood's propaganda since it's so entertaining.

Most people are not fit nor do they have good eating habits at any age much less their 40's, to much fat, sugar and salt will lead to an earlier decline, so someone that exercises regularly and eats fruits, vegetables, healthy fats and no sugar are going to have far less decline than the average American.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neuroplasticity#Fitness_and_Exercise
    http://www.livescience.com/2675-good-diet-exercise-brain-healthy.html

Look around you at all the people you see in the 40's, how many of them are overweight? How many obese? I would say that the environmental challenges (food, food additives) people face are the most likely cause of early decline in brain function.

On top of all that most people stop challenging their brains at around 35 moving forward so if you don't use it you lose it.

So I suggest the Canon T3i DSLR, as the lens is everything in a camera, megapixels not so much, however the T3i has plenty of megapixels too.
It also doubles as a 1080P video camera and since you can change the lens the video options are fantastic for the price point, the Canon software that comes with it lets you control the camera tethered as well as teach you what the functions do as you get instant feedback when changing the settings.
So even as a novice it's easy to use, looks great, takes fantastic pictures/video then when you're ready, you can get very deep into it and creative.

If we revised some of these items getting an education would be faster and focused on what is really required in the World, math, reading and comprehension, and critical thinking.

Most of us aren't out to be artist or musicians and if we were college would be the last place I would go for that knowledge.
