Of course this is exactly what the government will do with TIA and the other systems being implemented. This type of information and tracking is to big a lure for anyone to use it wisely. One day the mistakes you make as a youth (or at any age) will follow you forever, be part of your job interview and used to evaluate your place in society.
I have re read all of my books and even purchased a few twice (donated the others) in case no one got these guys here are my favs. David Brin (anything by him) Greg Bear (anything) Iain Banks (anything but mostly the culture stuff) Greg Benford and of course the Orson Scott Card series of "Ender" and "Hegemony" stuff. I like hard Sci Fi not Fantasy stuff so I go with any author that writes the hard stuff, and they seem to be Physicist too.
This takes me back to an earlier comment I posted about the possibility of jamming RFID (RFID: The New Big Brother?) signals from clothing and what not, is it possible to do this? Would such a device be a great business for someone? Maybe a GPS/RFID jammer combo for those of us that rent cars and shop at the GAP on a regular basis.
I worked for Intel for 3 years and that isn't their attitude towards things. I was glad to see that they didn't rest on their laurels so to speak, they are forever looking ahead...at least until the current top dogs get replaced by younger people, then you may see something like what you're talking about.
This is not his best work, it's almost as though he took a bet to write this one. The discussion of the soul space did bring up some interesting ideas and ways to look at souls and the concept of religion. Over all a decent read though certainly not his best stuff.
I refuse to use real any longer and the truth of the matter is they are hurting them selves with these types of cheap tricks. I only wish I could convince people putting up media on the web to not encode using real.
Would it be possible to make a small device that can detect and scramble these signals? if so that would be a great business opurtunity for some creative individual.
Microsoft, as you can see from the growth and profit line they are going under, they can't afford to have *any* piracy as it could destroy this wonderful company they have built...I mean it's not like they let the piracy thing go fo years so that their product would become a dominate force in the industry.
I don't need this I don't want it and it does not in any way benefit me, it will however, benefit corporations once this type of hardware takes hold. It will not benefit the end user in any way that I see as worth while.
He has money, lots of money, do you have money>? no... then you can't bury it.

O.K. I'm new here so this must be a joke right? because that is the worst fake I have ever seen...the grain of the picture is mismatched.

We get 1 hour of pay for every 4 we are on call.
The ability to pick out one voice in a crowd using a machine, what could that be used for =)
Big Brother just got better ears.
