Are we the only two who have noticed the raging obviousnosity of this? Man I wish i could post fake stories and get them on the front page...."In other news, Bush is not going to say something stupid in the next 2 years", or "EA has just passed on opportunity to purchase [insert game company here] because they are nice guys".
Sony has run Planetside into the ground. They are so busy trying to bring in new money that they refuse to consider the current players. They have made several changes that may have brought in a few new players but still overall lost money because of the old players they drove away. Game companies need to stop thinking about making money because if the game is crap I'm probably just going to pirate it anyway....
"Ogg Vorbis is a completely open, patent-free, professional audio encoding and streaming technology with all the benefits of Open Source." w00t for plagiarism.
Great, the FTC is stopping the only spam I looked forward to. Now the only thing I have to live for are those v14.gr4 emails. I'm glad their m4d l33t sp34k sk1llz c4n 5t1ll d3f34t my 5p4m f1lt3r.
Somehow EA will grab the Exclusive rights to the next WNBA game. With all those other offers, how could the WNBA choose EA? Crazy kids, when something is as hot as the WNBA currently is, they should have kept their options open...
I think these articles need to look at the more independent titles as well. While I have found them to be more buggy, I would like some pressure put on the bigger companies to lower prices and/or increase content. Currently i'm fumbling my way through Planshift, and (because i'm a glutton for punishment) Planetside.
I've been playing this game since beta, and have had very few breaks. When it was released it was revolutionary. There isn't an FPS that has ever had more players playing against each other at one time. I believe it's something like 3000 on may 31st of 2003 on the emerald server. The sheer sizes of the battles are what makes them fun to the people who play. I'm still an active player and I have witnessed first hand this influx in new players as it has made outfit recruiting much easier.
I re-installed the original Sims probably 5 times before I realized that they were speaking their own language and not some german/spanish mix. I kept turning it up real loud trying to figure out what the fork they were saying.
No it's not just you. But it's not their fault either. Someone had to pay for the 50 dollar game. Where are their parents. My parents still don't like me playing Grand Theft Auto. Fortunately it's outside of their control. The parents should be out cleaning the graffiti alongside their children.
I agree with DICE. Battlefield 2 looks like it's going to be an amazing game, and I applaud them for not giving in to the M$ of gaming, Electronic Arts...
More good news is you can play NES games, movies, music, pictures, and Ebook's if you have the gameboy advance movie player. It works flawlessly in the DS, and is cheap as hell. And lik-sang got it to me in 2 days from hong kong w00t!
I work for a health conglomerate. Each one of the specialized programs run at the hospitals requires a seperate username/password. While the inital thought was greater security it has actually backfired in that with a simple perusal of a user's office you can generally fine all of their user names and passwords. That is why single sign-on single password is far superior, because chances are they can handle the one username/password.
Well I know for a fact that Rose Hulman Institute of Technology's numbers are wrong. It says 200, when it's more like 2500. And with 1700 students, that makes it's ratio far better than RPI's...
Has anyone considered the security risks in an undertaking that large? People don't secure their pc's on wireless home networks. Wirelessly linking that many uneducated users would be a hackers dreamland.
I like to see stuff on slashdot I didn't read on cnn 4 hours ago...

I see, you'll post his burnout 3 review, but not my Super Mario Bro's review. They're both about the same age....
Space.com has an interesting time line on the event.
The young canadian kid running mikerowesoft.com? Sounds a little familiar...

And sort of related, this article at cnn shows how video games help to calm children before surgery.

Similar story has been running on CNN for a couple days now.

No. Xbox and PC only.
FYI, the PC release is supposedly in February.
