This program is interesting to look at for a little while, but can it do anything useful? I don't really see a need to see the history of a wiki visually.
Mass media distribution

IPv6 is nothing, it was just created because we are running out of IP addresses quickly. The future as I see it is mass distribution of media. Instead of running out and buying movies you could download the whole dvd and watch that.
If I had the knowledge I would write a virus that only infects the two computers required and it would be completely benign. I could take their money and create a virus that is useless.
I think you are right, he is a huge celebrity and if they include him the award might get more attention. He really has only written Close Encounters of the Third Kind was an executive producer in some sci-fi movies.
I fear that this trend will lead to the use of image compression for movies. I find the MPEG compression artifacts in most digital video (e.g., TiVo, DVDs, and digital cable) to be obnoxious -- digital quality is often an oxymoron due to aggressive compression.
Digital video may avoid analog noise and be capable of perfect copies, but if the sender uses too high a compression ratio (and you know they will to save on bandwidth and storage) then the image is permanently corrupted. And if film makers switch to digital video that does not use loss-less compression during filming, then all is lost.
I can only hope that falling prices for bandwidth and storage will let companies ease off the compression ratio sometime in the future.
I would try getting a mp3 player and listening to your own music. There is also podcasting (terrible word but the only one I can use now) where you can get great interviews with people and such. But seriously a mp3 player is essential for commuting.
I don't know about that, I have a xbox with XBMC as my dashboard and I find it is the only way I can watch movies or TV anymore. I just download the movies or TV shows and like 5 secs later I'm watching it. I own DVDs too but I never watch them, I don't care about extras or the case. It is just so much easier to watch these movies, I think this is the future of movies.

Because you can always easily install dropline gnome.

That is true, but microsoft will change to whatever the "next big thing" is. Infact they might even be the ones to create it.

When Janus is released what mp3 players will support it? Can an iPod play janus files? Or is mircosoft planning on releasing their own MP3 player?
Indeed, maybe now some problems could be avoided.

So you work on your personal project then google owns it? It seems like it would be more worthwhile to do them on your own time then.
If they actually recived it, what could they do with it? I know next to nothing about patents, but I can't think they could do anything with it.
an MP3.

Why is 64-bit so desirable? Is there much performance gain? Because from what I understand not all programs use 64-bit instructions yet.
They should add this feature to my crt monitor.
