Parasites convey selective disadvantage to their individual hosts; but parasites still exist. As long as the parasites don't kill their hosts too quickly, and are good at reproducing and spreading to other hosts, the parasites succeed. It's because the parasites can reproduce between already existing hosts.
Ideas can also reproduce between hosts. An idea doesn't have to be helpful to succeed at spreading (although it can be). It just has to good at spreading.
Using additional channels to capture that spectrum information would be cool. Additional channels could also be used in a camera that can capture a depth map. The technology to photograph depth already exists - SwissRanger makes that stuff - but it hasn't become widespread yet.
the guy is a loon. Have you heard his latest theory on 9/11? Total crackpot, not even worth "debating."
That's a Rudy Giuliani level of ignorance there. The idea that there is blowback from American interventionism in the middle east is supported by the CIA's own reports. Ron Paul is absolutely correct when he says that our intervention over there has raised bad sentiment.
The Firefox features page is just boasting about all the stuff they are loading onto Firefox. In particular, I consider the RSS feed reader, built-in session restore, and Live Titles to be feature creep. Better to leave most things for extensions and keep Firefox light.
That's not surprising. When someone proves what they say wrong, they grasp at straws again. I doubt most creationists know the details of what they believe, other than that God created everything using poof magic.
Go ahead and diss the grandparent poster. He said people against evolution are "probably" and "usually" against science. He didn't say people who are against evolution are always against science, which would actually be an inaccurate overgeneralization. He recognizes that this likelyhood isn't always the case, rather than putting everyone in a cubbyhole as you so said when making a strawman argument.

Mod parent up. Fluorine applied to the tooth enamel (topically) causes a chemical reaction that makes the enamel more resistant to acid, which is a good thing.
Fluorine when ingested (systemically), such as in drinking water, causes chemical reactions throughout the body and is a damn stupid thing to do.

Sheesh. Assuming the saw is straight, he doesn't need to do that either. Just line the saw up with the corners, keep the saw horizontally level, and start to cut straight down. (The resulting groove will serve as a guide for completing the cut.)
Down Syndrome is not an inherited disease that can be cured by curing carrier parents. Down Syndrome is a mutation, in which the child gets an extra chromosome. The parents don't have the disease to be cured.
If they are able to film this, it would be better than NASCAR. NASCAR can get really repititious. But install several POV cameras on these rockets, and audiences could see racing where the scenery actually changes.
No, stars form however the rules of the universe allow them to.
I hate it when people anthropomorphize the universe.
That statement isn't an anthropomorphization, Mr. Contrary. A seatbelt doesn't allow you to get flung from a car, and a birdcage doesn't allow the bird to get out. No anthropomorphization necessary.

HD photo's specification says that it can contain n-channel images. A person could make a 4 channel image if they wanted.

The best way to find out would be to build one and see. :)
Yes, the implementation was bad. He used a crappily designed implant. But the idea of having some kind of magnetic implant is a good idea.
No. Nintendo is doing quite well with their marketshare, and then there are Microsoft's Xboxes.
Believe it or not, someone actually said that stupid thing. And he was being serious. http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2001/09/20 010920-8.html
Perhaps, but would you leave national defense in the hands of suicide bombers?
Power is transported at high voltage to diminish losses in cables, any long-range transportation with low voltage is inherently lossy.
Aw, shoot. I guess I made this high-temperature superconductor for nothing then. What a waste.

Is "I should get less than only a minority of the people" okay with you?
That isn't hotlinking. That is an ordinary deep hyperlink.

Yeah, but none of the printers will accept it.
