As the guys over at PA noted, you can't play HL2 without Valve authentication. So buying the CD won't let you play single player until Valve decides to let you. Which won't happen until the official release date.
I guess you do get to see all the pretty graphics on the box, though. In the meantime, back to CS:Source.
Aw nuts, I was totally going to link that, but you beat me to it. Of course that comic was the first thing that came to mind when I read about "touching" the DS.
Man, wouldn't it be fun to be one of the guys controlling each team? Gee, rough life, having to play video games all the time. Although I s'pose it might be a little boring playing all 1,230 scheduled games. Might be a little sick of hockey by that point, eh?
So you have to provide an email address if you're "disseminating" movies/music/etc. What purpose does that serve other than to direct the MPAA straight to your door?
Good lord, man, what kind of beer are you drinking? A decent beer costs at least 7 or 8 bucks for a six pack. And you can get "decent" bottles of wine for that much at Trader Joes.
I don't think cost is the issue in the beer/wine debate. It's a lifestyle difference. Wine drinkers will have a glass with dinner. Beer drinkers chug a six pack watching the game on Saturday.
It's only an issue because video game developers continue to release "classic" games. If I want to play Mario Brothers, I don't need a GBA SP to do it.
Nonetheless, I wholeheartedly agree with you that backwards compatibility is the way to go. I don't want that 50 bucks I dropped on a first gen game to be wasted when I want to go play it again.
But isn't the whole point of a secure drive that it won't allow a hacker/criminal access to your files in the event that they come into possession of the physical drive?
In which case JumpDrive failed admirably.
More news can be found on Take Two's Investor Relations page.
Well, and then you'd have 100K songs sitting around for you to listen to on your new $100K iPod.
Whatever dude. You don't even want to go there. It ain't pretty.

Hell, even Penny Arcade liked it.
Any game coming out that works on a Mac is big news for Apple people.

We broke gmail. *crosses fingers and tries again*
I didn't realize that you can schedule ./ing now.
Sounds eerily reminscient of the Titanic. "Oh, we're invincible, don't worry."
Doomed indeed.
How does the JPEG exploit affect the DMV? Are the lines so long because the agents are looking at pr0n all day long?

Let's just hope the MMORPG isn't as terrible as Enter the Matrix was.

And yet, you never hear about a "wine belly."

and play video games at 3072x2048. Now wouldn't that be awesome?

Agreed. AMD seems to appeal more to individual consumers/gamers. Businesses all still buy the generic Pentiums from Dell.
*cough cough* To 'b' or not to 'b,' there is no question.
Does anyone else think the Nokia 9300 pictured in the article looks sexier?
