This is what happens when a government declares 'War' on an idea, or other abstract.
Crusades Spanish Inquisition Prohibition The War on Drugs The War on Terrorism etc.
We don't seem able to learn from history, or past mistakes. We have allowed the Constitution to be folded, spindled, and mutilated...then used for asswipe.
...you somehow put 1.7TB of information on something, anything, that fits into your CDROM.
After all of the unlikely, improbable, and "Holy Shit! How did they even get the tray to close!" stuff I have encountered working on other people's PC's, I can only deduce that you have never worked tech support or repaired PC's for the public.
A hopeful delusion for the stupid sheep, nothing more... The 'grasping at straws' tactic is most likely hardwired as a survival trait in our species, and that is fine and dandy as a beneficial trait, but to carry it further than that is just idiocy and self delusion.
My personal reaction to facing what seemed certain death was to 'boost into survival mode', not give up and pray. Observation and experience has taught me that while religion can be an effective spiritual and morale boost for those susceptible, it is a pale candle to pragmatic survival tactics and action.
I personally loved when we had to fight those that subscribed to some version of 'It's God's will'[1] for the outcome of the fight.

Half the/. bunch would trudge up the basement stairs and search for a window. The other half would find an online camera to check outside.
All joking aside, you made an interesting comment. I have also suspected the universe has to be moving in odd ways. I base this on the behavior of surrounding space near a supernova, the odd nebula formations seen in the universe, and the expansion of said universe observed...and they say weather, or nuclear explosions are hard to model!
Does anyone on/. know if any studies have been done to determine if all of this ever-increasing 'wireless' energy we are putting out has any significant effect on warming our environment?
I am not trying to be chicken little here, but the thought just occurred to me seeing this summary.
At the "first sign of any illness", you have already been infected by the cold or flu virus for many days, due to the particular virus' incubation period.
The zinc is hardly more than a placebo, and if that makes you feel better, than great! But don't delude yourself that the viral infection has gone...it has not.
It seems to have reached a point where the amount of orbital garbage is causing major (and expensive) problems. I think that if anyone puts a sat in orbit without dodging capability, they are fools, and potentially contributing to the 'littering' of orbitals.
It's past time to start working on and TESTING solutions to clean up the orbitals before it gets even more out of hand.
Or is this some Earthshade Anti-Warming scheme I missed hearing about?
Well old-timer, when I attended public school in the 1960's and 1970's, we learned about this literary concept called the metaphor. Funny thing about that metaphor trick, it wasn't new then, and it's still used today.
2. most systems lay on a plane shared with ours (view images of our galaxy from the 'top' and compare with a 'side view'...it is a rotating disc, AKA Spiral Galaxy)
BTW, #2 is why this is so hard, looking out at our galaxy, it's crowded out there!
For an 'On Earth Analogy', it would be like trying to spot a specific, individual tree in the most densely populated forest on earth, from Mars(or thereabouts).
Sheesh, back up your data already. It doesn't matter if it's Google, or Sixpak Joe's Data Shack, or any other cloud service here. If you aren't backing up your stuff, then it all is at risk, and it's your own fault if you lose stuff...no different from a HDD failure in your PC.
Because if you value and desire freedom and liberty, it is gospel.

Will Users Get a Slice of the "Big Data" Pie?
Users ARE the 'pie'. Just who are you trying to kid?
I applaud this.
Hopefully, it will catch on.
Now I understand Einstein's wild hairdo....
I think the rabbit hole may be a wormhole without the other end!
*head asplodes!*
How would we perceive that?
Normal folk would look outside.

Thanks for the info.
I figured it was probably not a problem, but did not really know.

At least that's the way I always heard it: 'Lick em, and stick em'. ;-)
It's a series of tubes....

meh...you are too late, suckers!
"Kilroy was here."
The problem here, is getting the public to adopt heatsinks on their heads as fashionable.
But then again, I do remember beanie hats with propellers, polyester leisure suits and platform shoes, and disco.....
Nevermind.

Maybe the ring could provide resistance to 'storm'/electric attacks?
Have the ring inhibit storm attacks within a radius of the ring?
Those are just off the top of my head.....

Damn public school education!
Indeed.
Sounds like Electric Viagra!!
Can't beat that with a stick!
And what part of "Big Bang in High Fidelity" did you not understand?
Short answer:
1.yes, pretty much

Lastly, God owns our genes, so there.
Which god?
Why not purple unicorns?
*Daffy Duck voice* ;-)
"You're despicable...."
I'm still imagining the chaos in the package sorting/routing facility!
All that machinery, and two "Extremely Dangerous Magnets"....hilarity ensues.
Doom!.......Catastrophe!.......End of the World!
