I am all in favor of fracking - if they publicly reveal everything they pump into the ground and take reasonable steps to ameliorate the problems.
Yes this will cost more. But fracking will still be cheap. We have a right to cheap CLEAN energy, not just cheap energy.
I'm confused by this... How do you get CLEAN energy by way of any process that involves fracking? Is CLEAN an acronym for something that excludes hydrocarbons(which are notoriously not clean energy) as an energy source?
Harvard, Yale and Columbia should eliminate the admissions process all together and allow anybody who thinks they can make it at one of these leading schools to enroll.
But,But, then how would the ruling elite hand-pick and groom/train their successors?(sarcasm)
I agree with your idea, but do you see the problem here?
Public apathy has increased dramatically since the early 1970's, it seems to me. IMHO, this has allowed the authoritarian style of leadership to gain traction, with a chip on it's shoulder.
[offtopic?] I have often wondered if it was an effect from national pride from WW2, then the shock of getting our butt kicked in Korea, followed by a rather inglorious retreat from Vietnam amid all the domestic protests....
Strictly within the context of the summary/article, I have to wonder how much influence on the mentioned statistics, can be attributed to exploring by students, or prospective students.
How many dropped out due to 'biting off more than they could chew'? How many dropped out due to 'this is harder than I thought it would be, and it isn't needed for my degree?' How many dropped out due to 'What? this isn't anything like I expected it to be!'? Or, to make it short, how many are really serious to start with?
I think the article is painting a slightly bleaker picture than reality.
I would appreciate feedback, but it's only for my own curiosity.:-) [in other-words, please don't feel obligated.:-)]
The other thing is it is easy to make excuses to the computer or a person you've never met online, but to do it in person it takes a lot more guts...
Can I toss in my graphics card....I'm desperately trying to achieve 1,000 frames per second in Tux Racer. I think my ePenis was overdosed by all that Viagra spam, this may be my only hope!
You jest, but black market alcohol distribution was the birth of NASCAR.
"Shine runners', AKA alcohol smugglers, putting their money where their mouth was and the racing evolved to what NASCAR is now...a multibillion dollar spectacle.
For what it's worth.... I have been a big fan of Avast for many years, and heartily recommend them to anyone running a MS OS. It plays well with Windows Defender[1], and in 'Game mode', does not interfere with anything that I know of.(YMMV)
I , as a fan, am glad to see that they have applied their mojo to Mac/Apple and Android...hopefully they can jump into the *nix world fully.
[1] or whatever it is called currently. I currently dual-boot Kubuntu 11.04 and Win7, both 64 bit. Win 7 for Fallout 3 and NV, and Oblivion and Skyrim, otherwise, I spend the balance of my PC time in Kubuntu.

The mind boggles........
I see this type of stuff from NK as a face-saving measure, with more focus aimed at their own people.
The fact that the rest of the world pays attention is just icing on the cake.
That won't work unless time flows both ways.
"Ass kicking will be encouraged for violators"
Well, I accept the challenge gleefully!
So, Jesus was a zombie?
I think I feel sick now... :-(
Yes, the manes proved to induce extreme aeronautical drag while attempting flight.
So they had to remove the manes from the drones.
Thus, the mystery of why there are no known cases of flying lions, is now solved.
Have you tried our new force-feedback controller? ;-)
It VIBRATES!!!
I hope this works out for them, but I'm not holding my breath...
If your nations economy can support this, then why not?
Thank you for an excellent +1 Informative post.
While I wish/hope for more bandwidth with that last mile, I have found that the more bandwidth my home LAN has, the more useful/neat stuff I can do.
Bottom line:
You can NEVER have too much bandwidth!
I know, they can use square corners for a disguise!
Yeah, you do that...don't forget to wear your bullseye target vest for the drone strikes. Also, it may help to RTFM, noob.
It's past time for the revolution, and the longer we put it off, the less chance for success we have.

+1 Insightful, if I had mod points!
It would be wise to wait on this until autonomous/self-driving cars are widespread....
Cheech:
"How am I driving, man?"
Chong:
"Uh...I think we're stopped, man."
Cheech:
"Wha...Oh wow, man. That's some good shit!"
RMS, waving his katana, will lead the HURD in the counter assault.
Everyone? Not likely, and especially not me.
You don't speak for me, troll....crawl back under your bridge.
I have always wondered what would happen when this type of suspect turned up.(suspect having an identical twin)
Every set of identical twins I have known, has deliberately used the 'identity confusion' at some point.

I'm sure that's the same thought my neighbors dog has while it is chasing the cars passing by.
Unplug it from the net!
Do I get my 20 million?

For that brute, I would go with two of these GTX680's in SLI mode!
Note: Lap protector recommended and asbestos undershorts, also don't replace the OEM laptop battery packs with Boeing 787 battery packs.
