"First, there are disputes over how to even perform CPR for maximum effectiveness, with some saying that chest compression alone produces better outcomes than a mix of chest and breathing."

There is pretty close to ZERO dispute over how to perform CPR. Compression-only CPR is intended for untrained individuals who may be under stress; it's easier to just simply keep pumping than to keep track of "how many compressions have been done, oh, now it's time to take a breathe". The average person may be more reluctant to put their lips on a complete stranger; it's also more difficult to alternate between breathing and compressions if there's just one person available. Paramedics, EMTs, etc do both compressions and ventilation.

    1) For $9 ChevronWP7 provides an officially sanctioned tool to root your Windows Phone. It's not $0 like Android, but at least easy to do and isn't disabled at on a whim by Microsoft, unlike how Apple treats jailbreaking. Yes, jailbreaking is legal, but nothing in the law says Apple has to make it easy -- so they don't.

    2) Apple has yet to remote pull anything.

It's because all the expertise was in enriched uranium reactors, and the same reason why American companies used slightly enriched uranium plants for it: it's cheaper to improve on a current process than to throw it out and start from scratch. Sure, there's diminishing returns, but why bother with something new when in the current situation where the public is afraid of anything nuclear? But when you're in a country where public opinion is less of a problem and you have a large budget surplus, you're freer to mess around.

I'm not sure what analogy there is in GP's comment.

Chalk it up to an unfortunate faulty understanding of the geology of the area. Before the quake, it was expected that the largest quake -- and therefore tsunamis that resulted from that quake -- that could come out of that area was right around an 8. So the reactor was designed to survive an 8.5, and the seawall in that region was designed to block an 8-ish tsunami.

    Unfortunately, they were wrong.

When they stopped into that first office (or the other couple establishments), they never actually asked, "may we use your power outlet?" The only time when they were really foiled was by a lack of extension cable to reach the outlet near the dock.

The Leaf has always been an urban car/2nd of a two car family. It's not for long distances. Nissan has never suggested otherwise. If you had kept your Swift to true-family-runabout trips, the Leaf would be more than adequate. For folks like you who do have an occasional long-distance trip, you'd be better off with something like a Chevy Volt, which is a decent car. See, it's stuff like this that gives technology a bad name: not being aware of the limitations of something and trying to use it anyway. Calling the Leaf lousy because it can't do a 125 mile trip on a single charge is like complaining that your kitchen sink doesn't dispense French mineral water.

Top Gear has made it clear that they don't like electric cars. Look at their test of the Nissan Leaf. They purposely chose a destination further than the range of the car. They started the review with positive comments -- I should have immediately been suspicious -- and could have kept it up had they treated it as a commuter car. I also found it incredible that they took hours to find a "suitable" power source, which turned out to be... a standard mains outlet. Really? They couldn't string a cable out from an inn into the parking lot, while somehow stringing an extension cable from a computer lab to the car -- which was parked on walkway -- was okay?

No, it's pretty clear that this is how they're going to treat all electric cars they review.
