  1. Re:Robbed Again... on 2004 Election Weirdness Continues · · Score: 1

Im not quite sure why i was modded out to obscurity for my post but i can say its very disheartening. I made a simple point, most likely this election was robbed by for the welfare of a one party system backed by one of the largest corporations in the world (News Corp) based on valid evidence and the fact that 1) our president has lied to us before (War in Iraq) and actually is poster boy for a movement that says lying to the people is totally acceptable as long as 'its in their own interest.' (strassian neocons), 2) he stole the last election which has been shown quite clearly by Palast in 2002. Im sorry if i seem overrated because im extremely frightened by the facsism that is becoming popular in this country no matter how rationally it seems to becoming popular. It still doesnt make it right and i wont stop fighting its unfairness, im sorry no one else here is interested in helping me fight for that fairness and equality...

Well there was an election four years ago where a candidate won the popular vote but didnt win the electoral vote, why should this year be any different? Actually if Kerry wins Ohio OR Florida, he is the new president and we would see a candidate who had less 3.5 MILLION votes and still become president. Then we could hear the Republicans screaming for four years how the electoral college MUST be abolished. Which it should, and that new issue of Wired with the cool CD has a great piece on competing voting schemes!

The most infamous one so far is Kerry Won. I live in the state of flordia and i know how floridians think. This state is democrat period. The polls on the last week even showed it. And so did the Exit Polling. And please save me the Liberal Whining as the former site is non-partisan, and of course the liberals will show that this election was robbed again because they would be the only ones who have interest to prove it!

american corporations/government will never let something free like linux to take such a market-share that it would shut microsoft down.

Actually you'd be hard-pressed to topple Linux. Of course its being attempted now, but it wont succeed because there is no legal basis for it. The only block to Linux or any open source option to take hold is a very prevalent American view which says essentially, the more you pay for something, the better it is. Or at least, If its free, it cant be good. And the people are becoming more and more stubborn it seems in their assertions to the point where no matter how many facts you present to show otherwise say in the case of Linux, they still wont believe you. I dont know the solution to showing the corporate dominated OS market is not necessarily the best. Other than using non-corporate OS'es and advocating their use.

    american corporations hold us back

i am would suspect i tend more towards a socialist view of things, but im not anti-capitalist. The thing is corporations dont HAVE to hold us back, and really they dont. They merely control the direction of progress by controlling the progress of technology. If we democratized technology which is a very necessary step in global society, this monopolization of technology would end. But most would claim thats what a communist would say. It all boils down to propaganda.

Which bringing this back OT is the only thing the iPod has going for it anymore (style). And being the first out of the gate. But now, the iPod-killer label has drifted out of use slightly since it doesnt need to be killed. Its slowly becoming a competitor working hard to keep its market share. This because enthusiats dont really care about the iPod out there since there are SO many options out there now.

XM doesnt work in large hulking structures made of concrete or thick metal. If yr home is a wooden/vinyl siding or balloon frame or such, yr fine. XM has tons of great options and the features or great, but i dont see it making a huge impact in the personal audio department, more of a car audio system imo.
