If you know you are going though an intersection where there is a camera, and you're not sure whether you'll make the light or not, simply cover your face (or duck down) before you enter the intersection. Legally, they must be able to identify the driver by their face in order to be able to issue a ticket. If they can't make out your face, they can't identify you as the driver. Even if they have your license plate number, they still can't issue a ticket without that photographic identify confirmation.

In California, if any part of your car enters the intersection while the light is still yellow, then it's "your intersection" for as long as it takes you to get clear of it. The traffic camera must show that the car was behind the limit line at the moment the light turned red.

    From your own article reference:

Many security researchers agree that Windows operating systems will always be more vulnerable to malware. That’s because the vast majority of PC owners are Windows users, and that gives “the bad guys” greater economic incentive to attack Windows systems.

Thus, even though Windows 7 ships with more built-in security features than Apple’s Mac OS X, the Mac is still safer because fewer malicious hackers are targeting the less-popular platform.

For those who are wondering how to get a fake SSN from a block that won't get allocated, the easiest thing to do is just change the first digit of your real SSN to an "8" - no SSN starting with 8 has ever been allocated and likely will not be for quite some time.

The SSA needs to implement a system that links a password to your SSN. You would be able to go to ssa.gov and generate a temporary password off your SSN that expires in a few days (of course you would have to input a lot of your personal info before it would allow you to generate a password). This password could be given to creditors/businesses along with your SSN for purposes of a credit check and/or establishing identity, and it would do a lot to prevent identity theft. I don't know how difficult or expensive it would be to implement this, but I think the benefits would be well worth it.

Well,I can say I have had a couple of folks come into my shop wanting to pick my brain while I fixed their machine, and when I told them they couldn't back up their BD discs like they can their DVDs that was the end of that. Sony needs to realize that folks have kids, and no matter how careful you are kids can tear up a Sherman tank with a toothbrush without even meaning to. It would be one thing if they had made them cartridge style where it is much harder to scratch the thing, but they didn't. And even the most clueless home user has found out from their cousin/brother/uncle how to back up their DVDs so the kids don't accidentally trash them.

This is precisely why HD-DVD was perfectly positioned to be successor to DVD. HD-DVD combo discs and (and eventually the twin format discs if HD-DVD hadn't died) would have provided a clear upgrade path from DVD. It's a shame really, the wrong format won. I'd bet my house that if HD-DVD had won the war, it wouldn't be facing the same decline in market share today that Blu-Ray is now facing.

Well I've been using the same installation of Windows for 13 years now. I started with a clean install of Windows 95 and it has been upgraded to 98, 98 SE, and then XP. It has had literally hundreds of applications and games installed and uninstalled on it over the years. I've had to repair the OS several times, mostly due to hardware failure-related crashes, but it is still going strong. I will occasionally use a registry cleaner app to de-clutter the registry. Maybe my experience is not typical, but it IS possible if you are willing to maintain the OS properly.
