  1. It always been on India Sleepwalks Into a Surveillance Society · · Score: 4, Interesting

This reminds me of an incident where a TV show was taken off air because the show parodied Gandhi. It's sad that people of India have to depend on the abysmal incompetency of law-enforcing bodies to keep their privacy and freedom of speech alive.

And the rest will follow. All the driver and free arguments will be pushed to sideline once Adobe releases Photoshop for Linux. Unless we have Adobe with us, Linux will never be a dominant player in the market.

Check you facts. VLC does not care about DVD region. All you need to do is to disable the default DVD player. The disk will be mounted and data disk, then you can run VLC. Just google to find out how to make disable the default DVD player.

FYI an Indian site called Rediff.com had it's mail upgraded to 1GB very soon after Google opened up trial of Gmail. As this site was open for public before Google's gmail, Rediffmail is the first internet mail to give 1GB of web space!!!!!!

  7. A fate awaiting them all: they missed the bus on NeroLinux vs. K3b · · Score: 1

The story of NeroLinux will be repeated several times in future. This will happen to all commercial software vendor who did not port their software to GNU/Linux when there was need. K3B made NeroLinux redundant. I wait to see the same fate for Adobe software.

I don't think bitrate is a reason. It does supports wav. And the battery life is a user space decision. Manfacturer should not prevent me draning my player's battery out for whatever may be ther reason.
