It's the rather scary idea of using JavaScript on a webpage to run XML-RPC requests to a remote server and update the local page, allowing for flashy stuff like Google Maps and GMail that does not require a new page to be loaded.
I may have gotten the tape drive to work ONCE. I was 5 and didn't bother reading the instructions. I could save things just fine but I could not figure out the correct arguments for opening files off tape.
I think it's a much better interface than WinXP's or Linux's app switchers, although I admit the differences are minimal.
Um, the WinXP alt-tab works exactly as you describe, and with the Microsoft powertoys, you can actually make it display a preview of the window you are switching to.
The lack of virtual desktops on Mac OS is a bit of a drag, though.
apple did not have.app bundles the last time they switched processors. they made a much bigger change to the structure of an executable. every mac file consists of a data fork and a resource fork. 68k code was kept in the resource fork, typically in a resource of type CODE iirc, and powerpc code went into the data fork, which in pre-powerpc mac os was completely absent from most applications.
My account had a bogus email address after it got compromised, until I changed it (and then it was suspended) They are probably holding off everything until the situation is more under control.
Elegant or no, this was not an atypical solution. I had catalogs showing available emulator cards for the Apple II (x86 for DOS or Z80 for CP/M) and the TI 99/4A (which was actually an outboard hardware module, not a card)
Treo smartphones and PocketPC phones can hold decent chunks of music, and have builtin phones. You can even get SSH and Remote Desktop clients for them.
No, I'm not insinuating anything about you. You read my post incorrectly.
I said that blackmailing for hundreds of thousands of dollars is not an option for those with scruples. There is no ambiguity in that sentence.
The $10K is certain. The few hundred K is a risk (or not an option for those with scruples)
Current iPods (besides the shuffle) have iPod-specific dock connectors, not FireWire connectors. That would not have been a factor.

Too bad it requires JavaScript!

RTFA, that would be 2%.
"A house erroneously valued at $400 million"
ffmpeg (well, i use ffmpegX and then steal the settings it passes through to the command line util)
i'm aware, but i doubt that 90% of my podcast subscribers forget they download a 90MB file every week. it adds up quick
This explains why my music podcast has 10x the listeners as my live broadcast
Actually, with the Windows MDI interface, there's no telling what might pop up in the list. Point taken.
Didn't the Newton switch to using Graffiti (as in what the Palm uses) as its native handwriting recognition software before it was killed?

It's popular enough that Red Bull supports it.
He does. He has been on the Art Bell radio show several times extolling the virtues of ZoneAlarm and virus scanners.

if you can explain that, you can explain all this weird world

Except for those who make a living programming free software, supported by a corporation or foundation which funds development.

Did you miss the dozens of articles on wearable technology before this one?
actually, if you switch to two half-sized RAM sticks instead of the one, you can knock $100 off the price of the macbook
the MacBook specs page says that both models will have a 667 MHz FSB. not bad, light years better than the current product.
3) Virtual PC and WINE running under Linux do not use the Microsoft Graphics Rendering Engine.
Virtual PC runs plain ol' Windows, so it does, in fact, use the affected DLL.
I think his partner-in-crime Brian Eno (who composed other Windows noises) may have had something to do with it.
