They're different. You're actually signing (or clicking through) something with them. This sounds like they're trying to say if you like them on Facebook (no EULA pops up when you like something) that you can never sue them. This will never stand up in court.

The $5/mo VZW Mobile Web is basically the charge to let you connect to their WAP proxy using the shitty browser built into their phones. It uses your airtime and it's so slow that you use a lot of it.
Same thing here. I would love to jump to Speakeasy but they just can't come near beating Verizon's price for the same speed. I know it's not their fought but I just can't justify the extra money
That's what I don't understand. Why aren't they legally considered a bank? They handle money transfers like a bank, there are PayPal credit cards. If they want to play at being a bank then they should have to follow the same rules as the rest.
I just booted my iBook G4 into target disk mode and connected it to my Linux box (SB Audigy's firewire port). The iBook showed up as sda and I was able to mount sda3 as hfsplus just fine. (on Macs the first and second partitions are not real partitions but the driver and partition map, iirc).
To make it work you not only need hfsplus compiled into the kernel or as a module but you also need to compile in mac partition table support.

While I like the idea in general I don't think Philly should doing this. The city has been so broke these last few years that they're closing firehouses and talking of cutting the police force.
Once the city gets its budget in order then they might want to look into this. Not before.
That's pretty much what I do. I have a Case Logic Laptop Attache, which is small enough to fit in my Jansport with all my books. It's padded inside and is sturdy enough to take the weight of the by school books with out any problems.
Yesterday was the first time in a long long time I've seen someone try to get into my computer. It was the same thing you saw. ssh connections trying to log in as admin, guest, test, and user. Only in my case it was from a host in.cn not.kr. I had thought of dropping an email to the admin of the netblock but it's been my exp that most admins in.cn just don't care.
For the most part I agree with you. There are times when a "download this as a pdf" option would be nice though. The one example I ran into the other day was a netbook for the Rifts RPG. This guy had some great ideas spanning a bunch of pages. Saving each one to html, then removing the clutter (headers for the rest of his site, etc) was a pain.
If you're using MacOS the default Ethernet drivers that comes with it will work fine. If you're planning on using another OS, well, I'm pretty sure *BSD will handle that card. Don't know about Linux.
I could be wrong here but I always saw a virus as needing a human to help spread; sharing floppies, opening infected files, etc while a worm is self propagating. Once it starts it will try and spead itself without human stupidity (other then running unpatched systems).
While I did like the Apple ][ computers (I still have my ][e that was upgraded to a IIgs) I always found Macs to feel faster and less clunky. For most people I knew with IIgs's (including me) the main draw was the ability to run the old Apple ][ software on the same box as a modern (well, sort of modern for it's time) OS with a GUI. The lack of backwards compatability with the old Apple ][ software was the Mac's weak point in the early days. That being said, for most people the gs was too litttle to late in the day of Macs.
I could be way off but didn't the IIgs come out in '86 (or at least some time after the Mac)? I do know that it was slower then the Mac Plus which I thought was out at the same time and while the IIgs did have color the dispay was rather blocky. As for multiple hard drives, so could the Mac with it's built in SCSI (I know there were add on cards for the IIgs to handle SCSI as well but I don't think they came standard).
