Probably because the headline of /. is "News for Nerds. Stuff that matters". Monty Python was and still is a cult classic. This on the other hand.....

The only reason I clicked on this one was to answer my question; "Are they for real?"

  7. EA sucks...just ask Sega on Sega Done with Sports, Take-Two Launches Label · · Score: 2, Informative

It's bad now because when you want to purchase a football game, your only choice will be a overpriced over-rated game that comes out every year just so you can have your football team on it. EA will contend it's not a monopoly, but lets be honest with ourselves, who's really going to buy any other title than Madden?

don't realize there is a lot of specific programs (like for maintenance and medical) that rely heavy on windows. It's not like you could flip a switch and everything would be okay. I would be all for it but right now unless OSX or Linux provides some sort of threat against Microsoft there WILL be no end in site. Right now the best thing would be is to get more companys and foreign agencys to sign on to the idea that there are better alternatives and other U.S. agencys will follow suit.

I don't see the big deal with all this hotmail ad stuff. If you have firefox with adblock it should take out the majority of the ads just leaving you with the interface. Don't get me wrong though, I would love a gmail account.

  17. iTunes backup on U2 iPod: Any Color You Want, As Long As It's Black · · Score: 1

Instead of having it directly on the ipod, they should just have some special key-code where you download it one time only and have it stored on your computer. That way everyone who wants the album gets it, and those who don't won't have uncessary crap on their ipod.

You guys remember that movie (okay it was horrible)? But there was a scene in the movie where Sandra Bullock says lets have sex, and Sly thinks hes doing the real thing but instead she pulls out that machine that simulates it in the brain. I think thats where China is going to go these days. They'll just use in-vitro to have children.

  19. Vegatable Oil on BMW Shows Off World's Fastest Hydrogen Car · · Score: 1, Redundant

I'm suprised nobody has mentioned using oil from vegatables to power a vehicle. Granted this might not be a long term solution, if you could get it to be somewhat the same power as running on gasoline it could give us time to develop hydrogen or what ever while not using our oil. Thus lessing our dependancy on the middle east for petroleum products Some Links:
