It's because they were rushing to download porn and mp3's. And I know of NO ONE who has switched back to IE. My friends havent, my family hasn't, my computer Prof installed it on all the computers in the main lab we use and those kids went home and got it after the first time, and none have went back. And Please Mr. Gates, just use your real name if your going to be making claims like that. It's not like your fooling any of us.

With horrible TV channels and the Internet service going down three or four times a day and calling comcast to get the "its not on our end, you and your whole block must have all done something wrong at the same time" speech it's no wonder why everyone in a three block radius of my house is now on DSL.
I've bought stuff at walmart and the cashier has gone so far as to toss stuff over the scanner with out it being rung up. You just have to go in at the right time. If you can find a cashier thats rushing thru the customers and not paying attention you could probably pull this off very easily. And I've had a few friends return stuff they didn't even buy at walmart and get cash or store credit. Same thing applies...just wait till they are busy.
I've read a few theories about asteroids being able to carry bacteria. Have the thought about what some alien strain might do to us once it's unleashed? Are they going to sterilize the rocks when they bring them back down?
I would trust Charles Manson to have a "Surprise" waiting for me at a party he's throwning more than I would trust IE to stay safe and keep popup adds of my systme.
While Firefox might not be perfect it's leaps and bounds over what IE offers.

As a former best buy employee I can't say this surprises me much. They've been doing this for years already, but now have just made it public. I worked in Home Office and we were often told that while everone got helped the better dressed people got helped first. And as far as teenagers goes, they didn't get helped at all unless they were looking at laptops.
The not accepting ads from the internet I never really had a problem with that. We tried that for a while, and you would be surprised by the number of people that came in with fake adds they had made in photoshop or something. You'd see a $300 printer going for $79 or something like that. If it was a ligit add my store honored it. Well atleast while I was there they did.
There are many many reasons to hate Best Buy (or future shop in canada since BB owns it), they do have long training sessions for the sales people on how to talk you out of not getting the X-tended warrenty, or that extra printer cable. Usually a few hours before the store opens on a saturday. They have whole plans ready to go incase you decide not to buy the service plan. And if you EVER get passed onto someone else after saying no or are asked again call the head company and tell them what a horrible sales person you had. It's written VERY clear in the rule book that once the service plan is turned down you are not to ask again, and it's a very big no no to pass a sale onto some that has a better chance of getting the service plan.
I don't care how bad I might want to see a movie, i'm not paying that much money for a ticket to just watch a trailer. Stay for the whole thing! Well unless it was like Titanic or something...then yes I would leave after the trailer, and pray that my shame for even being in the same theater that movie was showing in wasn't to obvious.
why not put it to good use...they build a few of these machines...say like 50, and wire them all up and get to work solving this SPAM problem we seem to have.
