All I ask is don't make it fucking suck like the new Family Guy.

  2. Ron Paul? on The Privacy Candidate · · Score: 2, Interesting

Why is he not the for runner of this article? He is greatly opposed to the govt's invasion of privacy, he strongly opposed the REALID Act, and he continues to argue for INDIVIDUAL'S rights.

  3. I wanted to buy "American Pie" on The Insanely Great Songs Apple Won't Let You Hear · · Score: 0, Offtopic

But, you can only purchase it with the entire album, which I did not want. So, instead of getting my $0.99, I went and downloaded it for free.

Stop pulling that stupid shit, i don't mind paying for music but don't try and fuck me.

It wouldn't be an issue, now would it? Who is going to pony up the cash to get FDA approval to let others walk away with the approved drug?

practical application isn't so. Requirements change, clients see something and want something different. You work a month on something and find out it isn't working anywhere close to the way it should. Tasks are more complex then people thought at first, the list goes on. It is a complex thing with infinite ways to do things. It isn't any easy process.

  12. I was expecting on Dark Cloud Over Good Works of Gates Foundation · · Score: 4, Insightful

I was expecting something about windows, but this is a valid "conflict of interest" I would contend. Maybe the foundation wouldn't get such a good rate of return going with "safer" companies, but it would help people in the long run. But then again, if these companies are providing employment, closing them down could be bad for the workers in the country. A bad double edged sword to have.

  14. Addicts are addicts on Is Internet Addiction a Medical Condition? · · Score: 1

It is simple, addicts get addicted to things. It might be drugs, it might be alcohol, even the internets. Hell, people even get addicted to working out. Some things are better to be "addicted" to than others.

If the person has an "addictive personality" then they will find something to be addicted to.

The President used to be an alcoholic, but now he is addicted to working out. The former is much worse of an addiction than the latter.

If you are not free to do as you please in society, you have still not served your time. Your rights should be fully restored upon leaving jail. If you aren't capable of having your rights fully restored, then you are a threat to society and should still be jailed.

Also note that laws protect the state NOT that individual. Much as in a murder case. The case isn't brought on on behalf of the family, it is brought on by the state. In many states, individuals cannot privately prosecute a murderer, only the state can. Criminals are locked up on behalf of the state, they aren't for the victim.

Laws are created to protect the massive state, not individuals. SOmething that most others seem to forget.

  23. Re:This is where college went wrong on Indian College Students Face Bleak Prospects · · Score: 1

I blew $100k going to college to get a degree in CS. Probalby 75% of the skills I use on a daily basis I learned outside of the classroom on my own time. It is absurd that you *MUST* go to college now to get any sort of a decent job. Colleges have turned into the "apprenticeship" we once were "blessed" with. Sure, I am glad I went to college, but the amount of money I paid personally is a bit absurd to what I got out of it. Even getting my jobs outside of college had little to do with my in class skills, everything interview was was what I knew from outside experience from college. It is silly that a piece of paper has so much weight when I graduated with some grade A idiots.

  24. This is where college went wrong on Indian College Students Face Bleak Prospects · · Score: 4, Insightful

In the US and India. College isn't training you for a job, it is learning a field of study. Perhaps this is the issue, jobs require these "degrees" and now that is what colleges teach to, not the theory behind the area of study. My college was guilty of this, sadly.

"Emergency war spending" so that we can "pretend" we get "closer" to balancing the budget. Printing out gobs of money destroying the value of our savings so they can pretend to pay for all this shit

Please, if you think they are somewhat honest in how they present any of the ways they pay for or fund anything you are kidding yourself.
