I wasn't being pro-American in any way in the above post. I was making a very distinct point:
There is nothing in the Universe that guarantees "2-way streets" (equality). Almost every relationship between two entities is unbalanced in that one has more power than the other.
The parent to my post acted like that was a given.
who ever gave the idea to the world that this was a two way street here?!
Who did? Just because you want it to a two-way street don't make it so. When you were a child, your parents were allowed to spank you, but you weren't allowed to spank them. I may walk up to you on the street and punch you in the face. Doesn't mean you get to (ie are capable of) punching me back.
Basically, they need to back off and let people ruin themselves.
But people just don't ruin themselves. They usually hurt other people in the process. It's not like they just crawl into a dumpster in a dark alley and die.
Usage: md5sum [OPTION] [FILE]...
or: md5sum [OPTION] --check [FILE] Print or check MD5 (128-bit) checksums. With no FILE, or when FILE is -, read standard input.
-b, --binary read files in binary mode (default on DOS/Windows)

No, and no one else will either. Alarms going off has become so prevalent in our society that most people ignore them. When was the last time you saw someone concerned about a car alarm going off? I live in a college town and everyone ignores fire alarms because they are falsely triggered (ie intentionally pulled) all the time. I think the only alarms people pay attention to anymore are the ones we use to wake up. And that's only because they're so damn annoying.
but there is no facility for you to transfer ownership of your number to another person
Like I wrote above, there is to. I've done it many times with Qwest. You basically call up and say "I'd like to transfer my number to the person that's going to get on the phone after me." It's worked everytime, and they never ask why, and never show any inclination to not do it.
As someone that has had many different roommates, I can testify that this is true, at least with Qwest. All it takes is a phone call with both parties present. One presents his identifying information, tells that he'd like to transfer it to the person coming on the phone next, and hands the phone to other person for them to present their identifying information.
What are you, a child? The formula is linear. We're not talking complex math here buddy. Go to any lottery website, say ialottery.com, and do the calculation yourself. Don't expect other people to do your research for you.
Where did I say anything about one winner? Just because that's the first thing you thought of, don't assume I'm stupid. Even taking that into account, many times the expected payout exceeds the purchase price. To check it, all you need to do is find the odds (or calculate them yourself), find out the jackpot, and find out the number of tickets sold. Usually the states take a fixed percentage, so it's easy to determine one of the last two from the other.
I didn't say that it does. Multiple winners is an easy calculation. Even taking that into account, the expected payout still frequently exceeds the purchase price.
The first insightful post in this damn article.
Nice job on throwing out a quick, sarcastic response that has no relation to this guy's situation at all.
You, sir, are a jackass.
Despite what others are saying here, I think you're a fucking genius!
That's not the issue. My point is $60000 to $300000 is not a lot of money, especially not for companies.
I'm glad you think that is a lot of money, but it isn't.

They won't be, because the Muslims are smart enough to not join the WTO in the first place.
No, not correct. From the program itself. Read what you copied there. ryanr's comment was completely correct with regard to text files.
this was inside a computer case lying on its side with the side panel removed so the top was open
You must be really dumb.
Actually it was his license: http://www.dca.ca.gov/cba/discipline/ma-me.htm#mau g_mg.
Actually this search does turn up that he was in trouble before with the state: Mark+Maughan+cpa.
Interfaces come from component-based development, not OO programming. They are orthogonal.
Although I see where you would get confused, most OO books tout interfaces.
What was the final resolution of your case?
your car alarm goes off, will you notice?
No, and no one else will either. Alarms going off has become so prevalent in our society that most people ignore them. When was the last time you saw someone concerned about a car alarm going off? Don't even do that. Hold one end of the drive tightly in your hand. Act like you're throwing a frisbee, but don't let go.
Exactly. Mod this shit up. And it doesn't even have to be a virus, such as spammers will frequently spam from one University address to another.

They have never asked why.
No, the only thing that's obvious is that I have more important things to do than "prove" stuff to you. You're worse than some of my students.
