That said, I traded a dual celeron 400mhz setup for a single proc 600mhz fanless setup and I don't notice the speed difference.

How can that be? From the benchmarks I've seen, a 400MHz Celeron kicks the shit out of VIA's 600Mhz chip. What are you running on this machine? I've been wanting to do this for a while, but I've always been afraid of the performance loss.

You must live in one of those socialist countries. I just paid a guy $400 a couple weeks ago to do less than one day's painting on my house. I can pretty much assure you he's not going to report, considering I paid him in cash.

Also, I know quite a few lawyers. Enough said.

    $500 is oh-so-trivial

Most people can make $500 in a day (eg painting a house). Many people can make $500 in a few hours. And there are still a lot of people that can make $500 in less than an hour. Sure, it may pay a student to do something, but that is hardly an accurate depiction of time-is-money.

    I've lived in San Francisco.

San Francisco is the farthest extreme from "normal" America.

Healthcare is free in the U.S. when you are unemployed, it's called the emergency room. Education is of course free up to 12th grade. (The government does provide grants, scholarships, and other financial aid for college, so it's not as bad as people make it out to be.) Where I live (midwest), I rarely see pan-handlers, insane and other strays. Don't judge the U.S. based on the big cities, because all big cities across the world are that way.

I was going to donate, but now that you've completely distorted reality to make your government (system, country, whatever) seem better than mine, FUCK YOU!
