I agree that the PS3 may eventually be as successful as the PS2 but when the PS2 launched in Japan it sold 980,000 in the first two days. How many are getting shipped to Japan for launch this time? 100,000? It sure is off to a slow start.
Everyone will know how unpopular I am!

So during our meetings all my coworkers will have watches flashing on and off the whole time and everyone will notice how no one ever calls me. No thanks!
I can see where you're coming from...but what if you weren't aware that season X of series Y has already been released on DVD? It'd be kinda nice to be notified when the latest one became available.
Do many people really have fully reliable connection? Every place that I've lived had spotty high speed internet connection. It was up MOST of the time but there were definitely periods here and there where it would go out and be a bit before it came back on. Most people are used to much greater reliability with their phone lines. I can't remember a time when the line gave out on me in the middle of a call (unless I accidentally hung it up with my chin while trying to do more than one thing at once). If I need to call 911 I don't want to have to deal with the net being down. Periodically going down for short periods of a time is annoying when it comes to the net but it'd be infuriating if it happened with my phone. It's hard for me to understand how others would want VoIP services like Vonage or a Comcast equivalent unless they had much more reliable internet service.
I think part of it is that breast cancer can be detected and treated early much easier than other cancers. Are there very good warning signs of digestive system cancers? If not, what will awareness do? Possibly get people to donate money is about all it can do. But if people learn how to check themselves for breast cancer and see a doctor if they find signs of it, they may actually be able to do something about it. It doesn't take much work to stay alert of the potentials of breast cancer. Awareness can go a long way. I'm not sure awareness can go quite as far with other types of cancer (except maybe skin cancer).
GS: Now I presume, the game is going to let you create your own heroes. My question is, how are the characters from the Marvel universe going to interact with those newly created characters?
Jack Emmert: Don't presume anything right now. We are dedicated to creating the ultimate Marvel experience online and we'll do whatever it takes to fulfill that. Whether you can play as a character or create your own--right now, we're not announcing anything.
I'm guessing we'll see 10,000 wolverines and spidermans running around everywhere.
Alternate OS in tv/movies means Not Apple. This includes windows. The only time windows is shown is when they want to show someone getting online and they show some AOL login.
The question then becomes how much of a loss are they taking during this launch phase. From all I've heard those losses could be HUGE. And people still feel it's overpriced and many are waiting for a price drop. So if their launch phase accrues massive losses and doesn't even create a large enough base for developers to feel safe about making a profit from, then Sony may never FULLY make up for the losses later. Sony won't get a hundred million units sold at a profit after the first few million sold at a loss if the developers aren't making enough attractive games for it.
Of course it's actually very cheap to make the disc and package and they require volume to make up for development costs. However, if Sony isn't making enough PS3s this year then even if every PS3 owner buys the game (highest volume possible) they may not fully recover from their development costs.
They may take a loss on the PS3 version and make it up in the wii and 360 versions just so they can have a foot in the door for future ps3 games.
So will developers actually make a profit? Everything I've been hearing was that the PS3 is significantly harder to program for.
If this is a permanent thing, then I've got to give them kudos for not letting the prices get out of control while still keeping quality high (at least in the graphics department...we shall see in everything else).
Although for me, it's a moot point because I'll be getting $50 Nintendo Wii games well before I consider a PS3 purchase. I'll probably eventually get a PS3 but by the time I do, I'll be paying walmart bin prices for old games.

It looked like nearly every card one at whatever price they sell at. A category for $125 (a three way tie there) and a category for $130? It's ridiculous. 7 pages worth.
Concerning the price of games, the article you posted says:
Earlier this year, Sony's President, Kaz Hirai suggested that the price of PlayStation 3 games may range from USD60 to USD100 in an article in PlayStation Magazine.
When the "FUD" comes from the company's own president, that's what I call great marketing!
So it's up to you if you want to take your chances. Are you someone who thinks MOST of the time the rumble is lame? Turn it off. If you think MOST of the time it's great, leave it on...until you come across one that is lame and then turn it off for that particular one. It's up to you to decide if it's worth trying...unless of course it's not an option.
He can't tell because it will run on 73 bit and revolutionize everything! =)

Would be nice if those options were available in all areas. No place I lived in was able to get dsl or fttp.

Also disqualified because they put in AMD instead of Intel? =)
That's what I want! Along with all those other Paragon software games that involved superheroes.

I figured she must have got the part because she had "KDE proficient" on her resume.

It definitely can play both and I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) that most early games will be on DVD.

Because the secret REAL target was to get as many ads shown to you as possible.
yes, "one" should be "won". That's what I get for typing at 2am.

I mostly played it on the Atari 2600. I don't think that particular version had that glitch.
