I've got a ReactOS VM sitting on my home machine waiting for the scammers to call me. It looks like Windows. It behaves like Windows (this makes it easy to follow their script). However every remote access application I've tried crashes with all manner of creative error messages.
I've been of the view for some time that the patents in an industry should last one and a bit product life-cycles. This would mean that in IT, a genuine patent would last ~4 years at most.
Radio NZ did a 40 minute interview with evolutionary biologist Alan Cooper (the lead researcher) on Saturday. It is well worth a listen if you've got the time.
On the few occasions that the scammers have managed to get hold of me, this is a game that I have played. Normally with the assistance of a Linux or ReactOS VM (ReactOS works quite well for this because it behaves just like Windows, but the various remote access apps they want to use will fail to run correctly). So far my record is 80 minutes of pretending to be a bit wet behind the ears.
I wonder how much it would cost to simply buy 51% of Eolas? If the shares are publicly traded, with 23 companies being sued it might even be possible for them to buy a small share parcel each without too much notice.
The content of the Google submission to TCF can be found here. Some of the other submission (including the Auckland District Law Society and the Radio New Zealand submissions) are worth a read.
That would be the former member of Parliament Judith Tizard (she lost her seat during the last General Election in November). Now would be a really good time for all New Zealand based Slashdot readers to contact Steven Joyce (who is the minister for Communications and Information Technology). It would probably also be a good idea to contact your local electorate MP to voice your concern.
In both my current car (Subaru Impreza WRX) and my previous car (Mazda Lantis V6) - both manual, the fuel cut off point is 1200 RPM. I believe that cut off point in a similar auto is about 1500 RPM.
You could claim that in most forms of motorsport there is a benefit to being fuel efficient as you spend less time putting fuel into the car (most categories implement some sort of rules to limit the rate a which cars can be refuelled) and have to carry around a smaller quantity of fuel.
I have just finished reading a book called "Two sides of the Moon" by David Scott and Alexi Leonov. In it Alexi shows some strong support for space tourism. He was of the view that 3-4 tourists a year would have generated enough income to keep MIR in orbit.
The first phone produced by Alexander Graham Bell was supposedly given to James Murray who is most famous as an early editor of the Oxford English Dictionary.
James Murray was also the man who first introduced and interested Alexander Graham Bell in electricity.
If people stop buying CD's I wonder what the effect on the wallets artists will be? And if no one is buying CD's will artists continue to produce music only destined for a CD or will they attempt to only write singes?
But what is to stop me from creating a script that visits 3 or 4 web forms in a row and enter all the required information at each step to display the map? If such a system was really smart the user would only ever see the map and none of the steps in the middle.

So if I make all my computers look like they are running as a virtual machine, I'm safe from this exploit?

I normally perform the term computer engineer or software engineer as I think it better acknowledges that most software is an engineering problem.
Here is photo taken in 1911 of the aircraft on the ice: http://www.flickr.com/photos/statelibraryofnsw/2866625141/ (other commenter's have already mentioned how the aircraft came to be wingless).

Eric Lawrence has already blogged on the IE Team blog in support of this approach: http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2009/06/25/declaring-security.aspx so it is possible that CSP will be adopted more generally.
Interestingly enough, New Zealand already has a free trade agreement with China.

My guess is that this is a experiment by the Judge in question to see what difference (if any) the ban will make (this is a high profile case in NZ).

So yes, send up anyone with the cash.
I wonder how long it will be before someone creates a virus based on knowledge found in a patch that has only been released to the government.

That's when I stop comments and revert to using single letter variables all over the place (auto obfuscated code).
