Seriously? At a previous job, they only decided in 2008 to start deploying Windows XP instead of skipping it and going for the next release. They were still running Windows 2000 Pro until then as it had proven to be very stable. As windows Vista turned out to be such a disaster on release they still stuck with Windows 2000 Pro and see what the next release would bring. But Windows7 still was not able to convince to be a stable version so they went for XP SP3 for its overal stability. My current employer is still using Windows XP and by the looks of it will still be using it next year.

What load of crap! Windows 3.0 failed but following windows 3.11 was a success, Windows 95 failed but Windows 98 was a success, Windows ME failed Windows 2000 turned out to be a widely used OS, Windows XP started out failing for the most part but after 3 Service packs is still an OS that is widely used in business (already 10yrs in use), Windows Vista failed but Windows 7 looks promising but still lacks stability (This is why business stick with XP), Windows 8 might well be the version that will be used to be stabilized as a general replacement for XP. Microsoft really doesn't miss a cycle, they rather abaddon one more quickly. Both Vista and 7 are missed opportunities for microsoft.

It should be, everyone can own a weapon, but can not bear arms all the time. If the text would be applied more strictly, nobody in the US would have the right to bear arms when the above condition is not met. But they would be able to own arms so then can be called when an emergency would arise. When after Huricane Katarina hit southern US, they would have been in an emergency where there was a legit threat to public safety and people would have been able to form regulated militia to protect the public safety.

Honestly, doing such a deep backupground check is a violation of privacy. All the information that can come up on someone is not always related or of importance for that background check. When someone is hired you would start with checking the references and maybe companies the employee has worked with. If there is any indication that someone is not completely trustworthy for such a position it will immediately turn up. Although different per country, I would be very offended if such things as credit reports are checked. There are numerous people that have at some point done something that would end up on record, speeding, parking fines, maybe even financial problems at some moment in time. But this information should not be available to any investigating firm or person since it doesn't explain how someone got it. If it would serve a purpose, at least such a background check should be limited in time, for about a maximum of 2 years back but not go as far as 5 to 10 years. The claim is that his motivation was not receiving the huge bonus he expected. I really have a lot of doubts that would be the motivation.
