Despite not being able to easily swap the battery, the whole seamless construction thing does make a sturdier device. iPhones and Macbooks don't creak and flex like other devices
Yet I've had my 3G for over 2 years now, without ever putting a case on it. It's fell from my truck many times onto a hard concrete driveway. The only damage is cosmetic to the corners, even after landing face down and sliding a few times. I find it to be a pretty tough phone but I take better care of my electronics than most people, I think.
I plan to get an iPhone 4 in the next few days and put an Invisible Shield on it. No Android phone has really impressed me, and I don't like the carrier having control of software.
Hold up an object up to your eye about where your glasses would rest. Close the other eye that won't see the object. Look at the object, then look at the wall behind it. Edges should get fuzzy and details will get blurred.
well of course it's blurred you made me take my glasses off!
the wallpaper will certainly make a difference, but i believe the multi-tasking only hampers performance when in use. i am just sure to stay on top of what's loaded to memory
I agree the performance is abysmal on my jailbroken 3G with multitasking enabled, but when i switch to safemode (disabling most of the jailbroken software) it's quite usable. i've found some tips online like disabling all the options of spotlight so that it's not constantly indexing the whole phone. i am still considering going back to 3.1.2 when i deligate it to another remote control soon though.
Windows "feature" =/= a fault of the iPhone or iTunes.
I really didn't think we'd need to get so pedantic, but the phone is also going to do a full backup before beginning to update. As I'm sure you're aware, that takes at least 15 hours on even the highest performance PC's. Maybe you can take a second to look at your screen when you connect your phone.
The only problems you will face is new apps requiring a certain firmware version. Be careful when downloading app updates that the requirements haven't changed
I'm from Canada but i was driving through Grand Coulee last week and caught their 35 minutes laser show o nthe history of the damn (they project it right onto the spillway's falling water around 10pm... very cool)
The water pumped into Banks lake is mainly for irrigation purposes, only generating power when it is in very high demand
I struggled with it as well, i'm going to assume he's talking about power-assisted brakes, through the use of a brake booster.
it has almost nothing to do with the discussion though

between you clicking "update" and the update beginning, iTunes has to download a 230MB+ firmware file. this is adequate time to unplug your phone.
There is a checkbox to not ask you again for that particular device

What about that box i checked off every time i installed it that said "I will not use LimeWire for copyright infringement"?
As one unable to recall the traits of millions of slashdot users, i might tell you to do the same.
i kind of wondered that after checking the UN. well then i see the humour and had a similar reaction to "digital DNA"

OR, Apple allows tethering, as it has no reason not to, and AT&T chooses to disable it. Ever think of that?
so how come up here in Canada, "Apple" has no problem letting me tether?
