Well, at least in the NHL hockey series (the only one I play), the AI continues to get better and better and gameplay more and more realistic. NHL 2002 rocks (if you don't play the stupid NHL cards, which I don't). It's a VASTLY better game than even a few iterations ago.
...or maybe you could find one you won't get tired of if you would make something besides looks the top priority? Just a thought.... to each his own...
ummm, most of the men I know who married those hot,fit women are either divorced or miserable, whereas my wife is hot (but a little overweight), but guess what, I actually WANT to talk and do things with her because she's not completely full of herself. If you chase women strictly on their looks, odds are you're in for a long, miserable marriage.
Just too much damn money. Recently went shopping for a new TV. I ended up getting a 32" Sony WEGA. For $700, it's awesome, looks great with DVD's, etc. The HDTV one the same size was thousands and the demos weren't that convincing.
The only thing that would tempt me with HDTV is I'm a huge hockey fan. Hockey is a tough game to show on TV (bunch of reasons: puck is small and tough to follow. Contrast of stuff on white ice is a bitch and you can't see the line changes 'cause the camera follows the puck) Anyway, I'm told that there is a trial where games are broadcast in HDTV. With the widescreen, you get full frame of the ice and can still see the puck..... if that comes into full I would probably get one.
This is funny, I just ran across this today and bookmarked it to try someday. http://home.t-online.de/home/Martin.Both/vborb.htm l
You can write CORBA servers and clients, call EJB's whatever, looks like. Open Source (guy doesn't even offer a binary download). Looks cool, but I haven't even looked at it.
OK, that's more than me:) I've found it OK, but haven't dwelled much on it. Since it's not been released, I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt. I figured you were a typical "bash it 'cause it comes from Microsoft" slashdotter. I stand corrected.
Yeah, I worked for a company (know basically out of business) that sold a "presence" system. They never got that many folks don't WANT to be found, and so were always over-estimating the market. Almost none of the people in the technical office even turned the junk (follow-me and find-me) on there "assistants".
OK, I've used Linux a little (trying to learn more).I've said this before and it's still true: I've yet to meet a management/PHB who knows what "linux" is. Most of them will vaguely recognize "unix" as "some operating system people used to run before Windows came along, it probably runs that old mainframe back at corporate accounting (wrong of course, it's an AS/400, but no matter".
My point is, it requires the generic "USB mass storage driver" -- it's included with the default install (and pretty cool. I plugged my camera in and it worked without having to install anything)SO you could probably do a custom install of win2k to NOT have it (or remove it as an admin) and if the user can't add drivers, they can't use it or any other similiar device.
I'd be surprised if there weren't. You can disabled damn near anything through security policies. I know you can disable installing new drivers, so just don't include the mass storage driver in your base install and block users from installing new drivers....
Yeah, the technology wasn't always realistic (how exactly did the balls of flame track down and chase the pedestrians -- I mean zombies) but it was a CONSISTENT model.
I loved pondering... "OK, so I need to get the speed up powerup and hit this ramp at such a speed at this angle to bounce off the wall of the building and fly JUST over the tower to get that platinum power up and land on the building over there."
You're kidding, right? That joke is an old Mac joke dating from the win 3.x days ("the box said Windows 3.1 or better, so I installed Mac OS whatever")
Look, if you are a CEO of a public company, you are hired by the shareholders. You get fired if you don't produce. If you are a sales executive, you get fired for a bad quarter. A company DOES exist only to make money, unless it is a private company run by an idealistic owner (very rare. They tend to go out of business pretty quick).
got an email confirming what I've been told on the phone -- our service will continue uniterruppted. My local cable was bought by Cox (Norman, OK area if anyone is interested). Through it all, we kept our roadrunner network, which always has seemed to have less problems than my bretheren in the "big city" to the North who have Cox.
hey, can someone explain to me how this got not one, but TWO, moderations as "flamebait". A clue would be good here. I don't give a crap about the karma, I've been at 50 forever, but this is just absurd.

yet the worms usually exploit holes that have had patches available for MONTHS (i.e., code red). Who's fault is that?

and how many programs, exactly have you written using the .net runtime? Just curious....

Actually, I heard a trainer say the same thing. The trainer said this was the reasoning behind including it in windows 3... I dunno about that..
If true, that's pretty weak and stupid. It's not like an insignifant number of webservers use somethings besides IIS....
They just need to be punched by a football player who yells "Linux!", or maybe see a pro golfer on TV wearing a Linux sponsored shirt.
where's my points for this AC? That's actually pretty funny!

In other words, someone out of the IT field.

Oh, those companies where the execs come from engineering backgrounds and don't bother with MBAs are the ones going out of business....

thanks for the pointer to red. I've been forced onto my old mac while awating a new mobo and been playing Marathon again. I'll have to check it out...
how would that work. doesn't Mac run on a different architecture?,/p>
Yes, my mistake. The original was "The box said Windows 3.1 (or 95) or better, so I bought a Mac". My bad

Geez. I'd agree with you about 7.0 and 2000 (If you don't do XML, why bother). but the difference between 7 and 6.5 is pretty substantial....

not to live in a big city like New York :)
