The problem comes with energy density though. In order to use standard electronics, especially speakers, you'd probably need a microwave beam, not something you want to stand in the way of, even from a comfort standpoint. What you'd need is some sort of super low energy device like RFID, which can be powered by lower intensity EM waves.
So you either end up with being boiled slowly or low output speakers, and if you're spending that much for speakers, you probably want high quality.
What I'd much rather like to see is a standardized 2.5/3.5mm bluetooth jack so that any device can output audio to bluetooth headsets.
Isn't the whole point of music to enjoy...the music? I don't buy a CD because of the pretty pictures, the text, or the piece of plastic, I get it for the music. If 192kbps is enough for me (since I'm not an audiophile) and I get the same music, plus having a copy on my PC and on disk easily, then that's good enough for me. I will buy their product until something better comes along.
The outcome of this entanglemnt is so obvious that we can't speak of it, even though we know its true: we're going to go to war with China. The only question is: when?
I'm sorry, but from a purely economic standpoint, trade with China has NOT been good for the US economy. According to Dateline, which did a special about WalMart, we sell about $3billion to China in raw materials. They, in turn, sell over $200billion in finished products to the United States. And before you note that WalMart is a US company, I know that, but they still must buy the products from China before selling them to us.
Oh, and China seems to be buying up a heck of a lot of US debt.
"So why are you oppressed? Because the government tries to stop people from drugging themselves to death?"
That's not what the governemtn cares about, I won't speculate to their true cause, but if death was the cause, then Marajuana would come right off the list of illegal drugs (because it doesn't kill you) and they'd add cigarettes and alcohol as fast as possible.
I have to concede that you make a fair point, but I'll take it one step furthur. All governments repress their citizens with laws. The distinction between a good government and a bad government when the chosen level of repression is decided by the government alone, and not the citizens.
Its like protection money, with none of the effort, and none of the benefits.
The people who thought up getting paid to sign SSL are very cleaver people.
Now, I have to go find out if anyone has ever paid to have a virus digitally signed.

"This reminds me of that old joke of the difference between the American space program and the old Soviet space program. The Americans spent lots of money to research and develop a pen that would work without gravity, while the Soviets used pencils. Nothing new under the sun."
Yay for urban legends! Especially misleading ones.
Americans used pencils in space too, the problem is that in the atmosphere, pencils really suck. So the space pen was developed by a completely independent organization which took no funding from NASA and provided pens which in turn was great advertising. The Russians were also allowed to use such pens.
They should do what they do with the rack mounted search appliance. That way you get all the web features of gmail, controlled privately and with your own domain for the addresses.
Most employers also try to fire someone because they aren't liked, or if they are perceved as a liability to the company. And let me explain what that means.
There is a person at a company I work for, that gets the mandatory levels of productivity needed to keep the job. They are also very outspoken about company issues, which disagree with the current practices (union and so on). So every time he gets audited (monthly process) they purposefully find his worst interactions in the hopes that he'll be below standard and they can fire him. Some people didn't believe this so he purposefully made a small mistake in one interaction and wrote down the ID of that interaction. The next month, that was the one audited. This has been shown more than once, and they're just waiting for an "approved" reason to terminate employment.
This kind of discrimination does exist, they just hide it behind protocol and procedure.
Uhm, see, in Linux, and probably other things too, there are different releases. Some are called stable, because they are stable, some are called testing, because they are testing. Some are called unstable because...because...
Actually, we can attribute the moom landings to the same mindset. It was a very noble goal to get to the moon, and put such a short time span for doing so. But it was accomplished thanks to the Russians, the enemy of the US at the time.
From TFA: "the compound invented by Paul D. Savage of Brigham Young University appears to hunt down and kill HIV.
Although so far limited to early test tube studies, CSA-54, one of a family of compounds called Ceragenins (or CSAs), mimics the disease-fighting characteristics of anti-microbial and anti-viral agents produced naturally by a healthy human immune system."
So basically, unlike other drug treatments which aide the natural immune system by making aids easier to find or retard its progress, this can act as a immune system copy, which is very important for when someone moves from HIV to full blown AIDS.
Check the 5th page, there's a picture of the student and the tanks.

Well, don't walk around their headquarters at night then, you might trip on the damn thing because its sleeping in the middle of the hallway.
If you use tabbrowser extension you can configure it so that simply double-clicking on a tab will duplicate it, no keystrokes needed.

It is a lie, and a more obvious one recently. But most people still fail to notice, even my parents don't notice until I point out certain things.
You see, the most dangerous lies are the ones that contain some truth.

There's room for both. I've had just as much fun playing mario as I have had playing quake.
Its like cars and bicycles, the introduction of one does not remove the use of the other.
I use RealVNC, which has 128bit AES encryption.
VNC is great though, especially as a system service in NT. The only thing missing is how to send a wake on lan signal over the internet...
"delete older flies, and your"
It delets FLIES! Thank god for that!
The company I work for does online backups for Intuit, please don't leave, they'll be losing one of the smartest customers they probably have.

"Just imagine, losing all the BattleStar Galactica episodes by scratching 1 disc."
I have that exact thing, all season 1 episodes on an 8.5GB DVD DL disk.
You see, with the right player technology, we don't need a bigger format, just a better codec.
And the moral of the story is: zealotry, of any variety = bad.
Beware those who are devoid of tolerance.
