  2. Can we stop using Cyber on Infected ATMs Give Away Millions of Dollars Without Credit Cards · · Score: 2

It's a cool balloon launch yeah, but joining Elon in outer space is kind of farfetched.

But who knows, after that you might invent the warp drive and embark on a 5 year mission to explore strange new worlds and boldly go where no man has gone before.

  4. Get the audio recordings on Complain About Comcast, Get Fired From Your Job · · Score: 2

of the telephone convo. Comcast like most others of its ilk record all conversations and should be easy enough to get with a court ordered discovery during a lawsuit. Should be a slam dunk case.

Unless this guy wasn't telling the truth and he really did invoke his employer's name while ranting at some poor Comcast employee ("F**k you, do you know who I am? I'm the CXX at YYY!") Then he won't sue.

  5. Highway driving easy enough for driverless cars? on Michigan Builds Driverless Town For Testing Autonomous Cars · · Score: 1

Then they should release this right away. A lot of people would jump at the chance to be free to do other things during highway driving. I'd love to watch a movie during the 3 hour drive to the ski resort.

And think of an automated RV that drives itself on highways! These things spend like 90% of their time on the road on highways anyways.

  6. Brits don't have this guy on their money on Brits Must Trade Digital Freedoms For Safety, Says Crime Agency Boss · · Score: 1

If I had read the whole thing I'd probably be dead by now.

Lot of blathering about what's "fair". Wishing for "Climate Justice". Carbon allocation according to need (presumably at the diktat of the author and his friends). The whole thing is just so far out there on the Marxist scale, it would scare even socialists like Nancy Pelosi.

  10. Re: What's the point ? on Downtown Project Suicides Shock High Tech Community · · Score: 1

To kill oneself when one has a healthy body is an insult to everyone with aging/ailing bodies who are still fighting to survive. It's an affront to God (if you're religious) or a cowardly waste of life force (if you're not).

Suicide *can* be an honorable exit, but you had better be facing some really serious charges (like plotting a coup against the Emperor, you failed, but if you off yourself then Caesar will leave your family alone). Suiciding just because you lost money on your internet startup is pretty damn lame.

Now if you're old and in failing health, that's a different story. It was said that men of Numenor had the ability, when their time came, to lie down peacefully and join his ancestors. Also the Jedi were known to have this power.

    A relatively recent program designed for XP or Vista could be checking for Windows 9x during install, like if (OS.name.StartsWith('Windows 9')) {print "Your computer is too old, please upgrade to XP"}

Why is there no media outrage at the low male attendance at fashion colleges? There's a pretty big one around here called FIDM, and all I saw walking around campus were females.

Shouldn't the diversity crusaders be making waves calling for more male enrollment in fashion?

Or should they STFU and accept the fact that males and females tend to like different things, and short of forcing students into majors they don't like, you're never gonna get perfect diversity?

It can happen again at any time. The Mediterranean's existence is always in danger.

Or maybe I'm not a genius and these are pretty damn obvious points that should occur to anyone looking without blinders on (e.g. religious liberal belief that every child is a precious flower equally capable of anything as every other child)
