    Only if * had a P2P type protocol instead of an infrastructure type protocol, then I'd think * would REALLY take off.

    Isn't that what shortcuts are already?

    While shortcuts provide an easy way of launching a program (or whatever), you would still have to make multipul coppies of, for instance, data files. With ln -sf, you can have the SAME file in multipul directories. In short, you don't have to make (and keep synchronized) coppies of the same data files everywhere when one will do. Think of a worm.

    a lot of us who use iTMS do remove the DRM from the files

    Although you state your intentions, you still support (or at least give the illusion) the DRM people.

    Like the people who buy Xboxes. They still support Microsoft no matter what you do with them. They still get your money.

    PearPc shouldnt do anything, That company will just suffer from a quick death, hell who would buy their product? After they realize how slow it is, they will probably ask for their money back.

    Would you want to continue to improve/develop your project if you know someone out there is ripping off your hard work AND making a profit while you are left in the dust suffering?? I believe this is something amazing, and the actions of CherryOS will just inevitable cease development of PearOS if something doesn't happen.

    ... hmmm, that is an interesting statement. I guess an analogy would be something of the lines of "If you give them your house key, and they rob the house, is it really theft?"
    I don't know, but personally if I give them the house key, that still doesn't mean they can take whatever they want. Although the person is opening themselves up to the possibility.

    About a year and a half ago, I brought in some source code that I had worked on prior to working here; after receiving verbal OKs that the code would remain mine.

    Although IANAL, verbal agreements are binding (at least in Cali), why does he not try to work that angle!?
