    10,000 years ago things were not the same as they are today. Today whether you survive to breed or not has more to do with what part of the world you were born in than any genetic advantages you might have. Evolution isn't a mystical force slowly improving life over time. Without natural selection there can be no evolution. Human evolution stopped when societies began supporting members who would not have survived on their own.

    Because we all know that keeping your network secure involves someone personally inspecting each packet as it comes in. With all of Sony's packet inspectors distracted by the DDOS the hackers were able to sneak their packets through undetected.

    The really great thing about Samsung is that they don't artificially make their entry level disks useless for RAID by disabling TLER. I have an array of spinpoints in my personal server and they do a great job for cheap.

    Removable media generally uses FAT for portability. How exactly do you intend to store permissions information? What happens when you put your SD card in your computer and copy some files to it?

    Why are you assuming the key is stored in the clear? It would make more sense to encrypt the key with a passphrase chosen by the user and prompt for it at startup.

    Apple's app store cannot be compared to a retailer. If Walmart chooses not to carry something I can still buy it elsewhere. If Apple chooses not to allow something on the App store then you cannot install it on an unmodified IOS device. If there was a way to download this app directly from the developer and install it on your device then this would be a non-issue.

    It took awhile, but Apple is finally going to have to face the consequences for putting themselves in a position to choose what is and is not allowed to run on their devices. Next up expect a lawsuit because someone used an app that Apple approved for copyright infringement and then the snowball will really start to move.

    Occlusion culling in a dynamic game world like minecraft is not trivial. Would you be willing to put up with pauses every time a block is placed or destroyed while the bsp trees are regenerated? I believe minecraft does occlude blocks that are completely walled in by opaque neighbors so you would really just be eliminating interiors anyway. With today's hardware you are often better off dumping triangles on the video card than burning cycles trying to decide what you can get away with occluding.

    Wouldn't it be wisest to avoid taking a position at all then? If you don't know the answer and nobody has provided verifiable proof then any position you take is just a guess anyway. Most people seem to take up whichever position is more in-line with their politics when something can't be proven. If the debate over a particular topic always boils down to R vs D or L vs C then what is the point of debating at all?

    Known terrorists have literally been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Obama was awarded the prize for having done absolutely nothing to earn it. The combination literally means everyone on earth has earned a Nobel prize.
