    That is a pretty big security gap. The ability to log in as an administrator, and add other accounts with admin access. Ask your work for a notepad and pen... it would be a better match for you. (Although I'm sure you would run to HR and complain your notepad has security issues, it allows you to write whatever you want on it...)

    And I very distinctly remember Steve Jobs telling me there would be 3ghz G5's by last June.

    I also remember George Bush telling me that he KNEW Iraq had weapons of mass destruction... and yet none have turned up in close to 3 years now...

    I guess not everybody is going to be accurate 100% of the time. :)

I'd like to see your source though that has researched and analyzed that half of windows viruses have come from simply turning the computer on. Certainly would be interesting to read...

    That's because most music stores use wma for the drm, and the iPod won't support that file format, it has NOTHING to do with the music stores allowing their stuff to work.

    I don't know why Microsoft is constantly under attack for its bundled applications. There's an "argument" that says an operating system should only be a kernel, some hardware drivers & a few tools that allow you to communicate with the hardware. Everything else you install above that should be selectable by the user of the OS, not bundled in so tightly that it cannot be removed easily for an alternative third-party solution. -------- Wouldn't this apply to everybody though, not just Microsoft? What about OS X and Itunes? What about Solaris and Java?

    Since you obviously have no clue what you are talking about, and looking for any reason to bash Microsoft and Bill Gates, let me educate you a bit In June of 1999, Bill Gates made a CASH donation of a little over 5 billion dollars... They donated about 125 million to help children with aids... I don't think that was Windows Licenses... Those are just two examples of many... I know you won't respond now that you look like a complete moron, but maybe you should know what the f you are talking about

    Do you think he get's paid over 1 billion dollars a year working at Microsoft? Alot of his money comes from investing activities, etc... If that's questionable business practice, you might move to a third world country where they don't have stock markets, investments of any kind, they put a few dollars between their matresses and that's it...

    So how much do you donate to education outside of your property taxes? (assuming you don't live in your parents basement, you actually own real property, and that you are employed... very unlikely for most slashdot readers)

    if you are a project manager, I would hope you would have more organization than what you are describing. Yes, the google desktop search is nice, but it's nothing innovative, and it's not god's greatest creation like some make it out to be.

    I never made the argument that they are NOT a monopoly. But to say there is no debate... wrong. Just because the courts find something beyond a reasonable doubt doesn't make it gospel either. There was just a case a few weeks ago where a guy was released from prison after numerous years, because they eventually found he wasn't guilty, however he was convicted beyond a reasonable doubt.. Look at copyright law / patent law, the ucc, other various crap laws... the courts are not always right either... Do I believe Microsoft is a monopoly, yes I do, but Microsoft also gets pointed out alot more than others
