  1. Philips growing into a Major R&D company on Philips, ARM Collaborate On Asynchronous CPU · · Score: 1

To me it feels like that Philips is turning into a major R&D company that could one day topple IBM. Looking at their recent expension in Bangalore, no one would disagree. Maybe, a good thing to keep the fire burning under IBM.

  2. India and China on China Plans 5-day Manned Space Mission · · Score: 3, Informative

It's good to see that China and India are getting their feet dirty in the Space Race. More information about India's Space program can be found at www.isro.org and its previous achievements can be found at http://www.isro.org/programmes.htm I wish them good luck. I just hope that China's Space program be as open as India's

  4. Re:Well, clearly Nintendo is crazy on Nintendo Threatens Suicidegirls Over IP Use · · Score: 3, Funny

If Nintendo is able to find that tiny little mentioning of it's characters on a "gentlemen's" site, we should have them search for the Missing WMDs which I'm sure, due to physical constrains of the country, would be much easier to find for them.

  5. Re:Outsourcing to Canada on India Outsourcers Find Back Door in Canada · · Score: 1

I don't know how many times it's been discussed, one can't stop outsourcing. As Darwin said "Survival of the fittest" that's how outsourcing works. I've lived in the US for the last five years, but now I'm back in India because there are ample opportunities for me here. Even I'm making just 1/3rd of what I was making in the US, I can afford to have a car, a cook, nice apartment etc. What I'm trying to get at is, instead of complaining about outsourcing, accept it as a way of life.

I'm a long time linux promoter. I would like to "Show Off" Linux (read eye candy) to a bunch of people I know, trying to convert them to Linux. I would like to know your opinion on which linux Distro looks the best (to the end user) without sacrificing on the usuall Linux efficiency. -- Don't eat me, I have wife and kids, eat them - Homer Simpson

  7. Re:All this talk... on Why IBM Open Sourced Cloudscape · · Score: 2, Interesting

Yesterday I paid a corporate visit to IBM premises in Bangalore. What surprised me a little was that all their PC's were running XP. Is that me or did I heard from IBM a while back that they would switch to Linux from Windows, atleast internally?

  8. Interference with life on Using RFID Tags to Make Teeth · · Score: 1

You know, I would like to know that would RFID tagging ever going to end? With each passing second, these chips are getting smaller and cheaper. I won't be surprised if they start marking each and every item sold over the counter with these chips. Privacy?? Hum..... sorry, I don't know what that means.

Alright, alright, I'll listen to the poster and won't copy it. Due to the magnificent achievements in technology, I'll just run it through virtual drive. Man, I just saved two (3?) empty CDs.

I still can't believe that B&W 2 is not coming to PC. B&W revolutionized the way I looked at games. 16. Re:When I went to Russia... on Bootlegged Music in Russia · · Score: 3, Interesting

I believe what music labels should do is sell localized versions of their music in these countries. What I mean by that is, companies need to sell their music at "localized" rates, so that instead of making no money from these sales, at least they could make some money. Just my two cents.
