    I am sure the government has tested flying saucers in one form or another. The anti-gravity experiments they carried out surely had some successes.

    What if we find a planet that is just like Earth; and has a thriving ecosystem; but has much more gravity than Earth? We would need exoskeleton suits to walk around until we got used to it. But I guess we will find Earth 2.0 eventually that is just right. But even a planet like Venus could have life in the upper atmosphere. And there are theories that even Neutron stars harbour life under the surface. Life will always find a way. Not all aliens are humanoid with funny things on their foreheads.

    How many of these planets are in the goldilocks zone? Sure we can find them; but which ones are livable for Carbon based lifeforms?

    The Universe is so large that it cannot possibly be that we are the only life thriving on a planet orbiting a star. There would be countless other lifeforms out in space on countless planets. I wonder if it is possible that a rogue planet could harbour life. Say if it was thrown out of a solar system but volcanism was keeping it warm enough for life to survive. How long would that last? As that was a plot point in Star Trek Enterprise.

    This seems like a good way to enforce strong password policies. if they are strong enough; they should help prevent password re-use. The only problem with this is the problem of people writing these down. We need a better online authentication system for 2013.

    They might only be using MD5 in MySQL and calling that hashed and salted, but that is not much protection these days is it?

    But you can run sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install xubuntu-desktop though. And it has SSH enabled by default.

    There are so many fake accounts on Facebook, how will the real name policy be enforced? You can name yourself anything you want and get away with it. That is what I have noticed anyway.

    When will Nvidia and ATI release proper open source drivers instead of us having to install a binary blob to get our hardware working? That would really help if there were drivers that could ship in the kernel to handle ATI hardware instead of the closed source options.

    Works pretty well with Xfce4 on Linux Mint 14. But I used the AMD Catalyst Control Centre to setup my dual screens. This does need to be built into the distributions though with some sort of utility.

    There are Virtualbox guest additions available in the Ubuntu 12.10 repositories that allow integration with Virtualbox. But Ubuntu 12.10 with Unity is very slow in Virtualbox compared to Linux Mint 13 or Windows 7/8. Better to run Xubuntu instead.
