...as a linux zealot, I must comment on this. How can Microsoft be a threat to Linux? If anything Linux is a threat to Microsoft, which I still think is not completely valid. I don't think either Microsoft or Open Source will come out on top, I think that it will be a split market. Microsoft is a company which offers a myriad of products and services, the quality of which is not under scrutiny here. Linux simply describes a common element in many Open Source products, which is the kernel. Linux is not a product itself, but a component. If you look at the two products side by side from this perspective, it's like comparing apples and oranges.

I'm not trolling or trying to start a flamewar, but I was severely dissapointed by the new series. As a fan of the original, I didn't like the feel of this nü-Battlestar Galactica.
Firefox has done a very good job at avoiding bloat by not including all functionality in a vanilla firefox. Through the use of extensions and themes, it has left the mechanism to Firefox and the policy to the user.
I had a legally blind aunt who used that a couple years ago before she died, and I tried it out. It was actually quite amazing how well it works, although it had almost been "trained" to her voice.

I thought it was a bit dark, but that is a valid point. And things like this are really a matter of opinion.

It's just that I think that having a free alternative to this is not a bad thing, just so long as these freeee alterenatives are "trusted".
They just happen to get paid cos they just happen to be "Trusted", cos they've paid MS enough.
