    why do they do this? atleast wait like a year before bringing out the next best thing. i just picked up a geforce 3 64mb ddr asus v8200 deluxe which i thought was top of the line. now, its these new video cards.

    besides the fact that companies will get more money with new products every 6 months, why do they not offer a rebate or upgrade to the newest product???

    i'd have to agree with you on this on. i've been using ms products everyday for the last 5 or 6 years now. they are what i know and i know how to fix them no matter how many times they break. i have a decent linux knowledge, but the trust of always knowing how to fix it isnt always there. with ms products lots of people know whats going on, so they are a resource. if know you know your linux, then yes, this is the way to go, but if your not sure if you can support linux in business america, then i'd stay away from it.

    dumb laws. ok, here we go. if a squatter is on a piece of land living for 24hours, you may not remove them. if a squatter camp is off your farm land, and they come ON YOUR PROPERTY to use YOUR WATER, you can not deny them this basic right. there are two right there...oh, how about black children being on medical aid from the governement until age 6 but no aid is for white children

    i wouldnt suggest anyone that i know of going to africa to work. i was just in south africa and the entire government is just completely whacked. they make all these dumb laws, then change them any time they want. people think africa (speaking of south africa) has changed for the better since 1994, but it has only gotten worse. If you go there, make sure you get the bulletproof cars, have AMERICAN guards watch your house, etc. It isnt worth the stress in my opinion. some other places in africa may be different, but south africa is rough

    I guess if all those people didnt pirate all of those dreamcast games, then maybe sega would have a chance. I mean sega sells its hardware for cheap and they make alot of them. But they expect the end user to buy the software.

    AOL gets the money because spam is taking away resources from THEIR network. Yeah, the end user has to read through and delete all the spam, but it first has to pass through their network. And when you pay for your bandwidth, the spamers should be held responsible for their actions. AOL has paid for the network equipment and everything.
    I feel that isn't enough to stop spam, but I would really love to see other spamers have to pay up also.

    That is two cities. What happens when 10 cities or 100 cities are linked? For example cable modems were great until everyone in your neighborhood got one. Pending on where you live, most cable modem bandwith isnt near what it should be.

    I think this right here is just media hype. Ive seen cable modem, and dsl which both keep getting worse and worse. I would have to see some benchmarks and actually see this project completed and tested before I would believe that this works. Every technology has its flaws, and right now its too early to see what this products flaws will be. I know that Canada has a high speed network going on. Why doesnt the US or other countries for that matter follow what the Candians are doing?

    What do the winners of this contest get? I didnt know about this contest until now, but do software companies look at this type of thing, or is this just something to put on a resume?(which isnt a bad thing)

    Whenever a company puts a product such as this, and opensources it, it means its a good thing. Novell is looking at opensourcing their flagship product, the NDS (Novell Directory Services) I believe that opensourcing products allows designers and programmers to work together on a product that they like/need for the enhancement of that product.     How else would you like these companies to raise money?

    I see nothing wrong with companies like Red Hat, VA, and so on for going public.
    First of all, it's great for the United States economy, which I am a very strong supporter for. More money into the economy is good because it means more spending, and more spending means more profit. (You get the idea)

    Second of all, people can make a lot of money with companies going IPO.

    Third, it shows that the company has backing from investors, and makes their presence official. Its no longer a small private company at that point.

    and ive also read about the WTO that when a vote takes place, each country counts as ONE vote. This means countries like the United States, or Russia, or China have the same power as smaller countries like Cuba, Panama, Switerland. Im not saying anything wrong about these smaller countries, but choices that the WTO makes effects the US more than smaller countries....Even in the USA Presidential Elections, the larger states have more say in whos president than the actual number of votes....

    How would you tax something over the internet? From where the company is located, where the warehouse is?, where the customer is?, or where the server making the transaction is? I mean. If i order something from Oregon (i live in Georgia), i dont want to have to pay the oregon taxes, cause well, im never gonna go there. And why should i pay to improves a place where i would get no benefit?? I just think that anything to do with internet taxes is just a BAD idea. Since the Internet spans all countries, there would be so many different taxes one would have to pay, and who wants to do that? Ive purchased a few items from online. I dont think i saved much if any money from ordering these items online than from driving to the store and looking for them. I just liked sitting at home and having something come straight to my doorstep.

    ive never likes lawsuits, but this is just cause. Hell, id send him some money. What the FBI did was WRONG. No court order or anything. And if i was this guy, id post the information on another domain. What he is not doing anything wrong, and the FBI cant touch him until they get a court order....

    Well, i look at it in this light. Do you blame the person who invented and manufactures the gun when someone is killed, or do you blame the person who shot the gun? Just because you make a product that can do harm, doesnt mean the inventor is all bad.... Ok, maybe in this case a software that rips DVD is bad, but it just makes the dvd companies work harder. there is nothing wrong with this. If you bought a car that was put together half ass, and soon the tire fell off on their cars, wouldnt you go back to the dealer/manufacturer and tell them to fix their problem? Each product has rules, some like cars, you cant run people over, and you are not allow to speed, just because you CAN do these things, doesnt make it right, and yet no one will place blame on the inventor.....

    wouldnt you think that mainland china has better things to spend their money in rather than sending men into space, something that the americans and russians have already done. Yes, i agree it will help the economy of the country, but then again it didnt help russia. as posted in other submissions, russia built the mir space station, which is a piece of metal flying around the earth now....who knows that china wants to do, much less what they want to put up in space...i would think china's government would want to improve the life quality of chinas people.

    this is just stupid. can i sue foreign web sites cause i cant read anything but english and afrikaans? this is just another case of, 'hey guys, you know what we should do' besides, if they could see aol, they wouldnt want it. yes, its a shame they cant enjoy aspects of life such as other people, but still, come on. just because aol has 14million customers and a boat load of money, doesnt mean you should sue them. i really hope aol wins this case.
