This isn't going to be popular to point out, but citizens of each of the countries you mentioned has more freedom of speech and other rights as a direct result of people like William Lashua and the US military.
Yeah, and the US has its freedom thanks to the french...
Or it illustrates the fact that people who gravitate to the Mac are interested in a tool they can use and, say, Linux users are interested in a toy (and I mean that in a good way- I love me my toys) they can fiddle with.
These "toys" run quite a lot of enterprises, maybe you should state in what context we are talking. Workstations? Laptops? Servers? etc.
Although the kernel-dev for Atheros said that they don't have firmwares in that sense, see the lastes Software Freedom Law Show at http://www.softwarefreedom.org/ for refernence. So it is actually 100% Free Software.
I have a 100/10 mbit (fiber, no modems etc) line at home and use a Linksys WRT-160NL. When I do heavy file transfer (downloading, mainly from big FTPs like universities and such) the speed is around 90 mbits (~9.5 Mb/sec). I highly recommend it. And if you're extra geeky, I know that there's a OpenWRT port being worked on, but it's not finished yet.
I'm not saying that Paul Krugman does not deserve a Nobel Prize, but I would like to point out that the judging and awarding process of said prize is subject to the political agenda of those involved, just like the wording of this submission.
I'm not sure what the National Swedish Bank have for hidden agenda... And oh, it's not a Nobel prize:)
Thepiratebay and the pirate party are two _completely_ different organizations. With different goals, different members, different sites and everything. Someone commented this clearly on the wired news article.
So please people get the facts straight.
The pirate party in sweden HAS NOTHING TO DO with the pirate bay!
It was me stating that. I was a bit unclear. Pirated movies and music are not illegal to have on your computer. But computergames and software is. Atleast AFAIK
And again I'll have to point out. Thepiratebay and the pirate party are two different things. Completely different. The pirate party was not raided. prq (the isp of thepiratebay) and Rix|Port80 was raided. So are we clear ?
The thing with swedish law AFAIK is that the posession of "pirated" materials are not illegal. Just sharing it. So having 60 GB of MP3's on your laptop is perfectly legal.

You seem like one paranoid individual.

That's the time I have to work even more, since I'm probably to blame for it.. :)

The pirate party and thepiratebay are not affiliated in any way. They are to different movements.

I love the fact that he only mentions two OS:s...
