    Ballmer is carrying on about "Intellectual Property" (ie patents), not copyright infringments.
    Intellectual property is a blanket term including both patents and copyrights, among other things. Seems like Baldmer isn't the only one talking out of his body-chair interface...

    Perhaps you'd like to point us to the part of that article supporting this assertion?


    It may be me that's dumb, but I read an article recently that said disconnected sytems are indeed, well, disconnected from each other.

    I doubt it even needs to be smart enough to keep the plane "stable." The pilot is quite capable of closing the control loop
    It's an F-22 not a P-51, it's 2007 not 1944, and fly-by-wire is a totally different thing to an autopilot.

    However, there seems to be this myth that with the right set of procedures, you can have retards for programmers and still produce solid, reliable systems.
    You can. It will just happen very slowly. Plus it will probably be a hog performance wise and need wide swathes of rewriting for any non-trivial modification - which is bound to happen unless the spec is 100% perfect up front.

    It would probably be obsolete before it's finished.

    That's why I gave up using bitmap images. Looking at the picture, dividing it into a grid of units (I call them pixels, short for picture elements - cute, eh?), estimating the RGB values, converting them to hex and keying them in just got to be too much effort.

    To offset that, the prices are raised.
    If the market would stand that higher price, why wasn't it being charged to start with? Conversely, if the market won't stand it, then lower volume (yada elasticity yada) could mean the merchant makes even less money.

    even riding the brakes all of the way down makes it very difficult to stay under 30 mph
    GP needs to visit a mechanic. Every car I've ever driven had brakes that could bring me to a complete stop even on a 25% down gradient. Not to mention this thing called a gearbox...
