They'll only throw a lot more tax at it to beef up the system
Nope, the ISP will be paying for it.
If the ISPs have to put their prices up you can bet a few more people might hear about this stupid law. The average Joe/Bruce will accept this in the name of saving the babies so long as it doesn't directly cost him more money. Tell him it's an extra five dollars a month and he might start saying "no".
Nah, what we really need is a program that just sits there all day doing random DNS lookups and loading the web pages...let 'em try and store exabytes of data and try to find anything useful in it.
She has totally different criteria than you. Numbers and specs mean nothing. Anything on the shelf will be powerful enough and have enough RAM, etc. for a normal person.
The real question is: Will it make her happy?
Take her to a big shop with lots of laptops and see which one she fondles. Feel the keys, pay particular attention to the trackpad buttons. Pick it up and see if it feels solid. If it seems reasonably well built then that's the right one.
Yes it does. The sort of person who doesn't have insurance probably doesn't care too much about a lot of other stuff, too, like maintenance, tire pressures, etc.
They're also raising the insurance rates of everybody who does give a damn.
Get 'em off the road, I say. There's no "right" to drive, it's a privilege.
And any half-decent auditing system would catch you very quickly indeed.
They might have database triggers on obvious famous people[1] to catch stupid[2] people being bribed by Rupert Murdoch but what about people who look up school friends or whatever. That's unlikely to raise an eyebrow.
[1] But don't bet on it: This is government, the very definition of IT incompetence. [2] You can bet the smart people can get access without being logged by 'borrowing' a superviser's password or a backup disk or whatever.
Some of those breaches would be done by people who were being bribed to get dirt on other people. Firing somebody won't prevent the breaches, it just raises the price of the bribe.
When you fine the government, they just increase taxes. We need some personal accountability here.
Yep. The government 'fining' itself only moves money from one place to another, nobody feels terribly punished afterwards (unless they were planning to 'divert' it for their own use). It should be automatic firing (for minor offenses) or prison (for bigger offenses).
The problem with Tritium is that it doesn't glow forever. If I splash out on a fancy watch I'd like it to last a few years. Tritium will be noticeably dimmer after four or five years (half brightness is about 12 years from time of manufacture).
PS: If you want one-handed use get a G-Force with "auto-light". You can light them up via an arm gesture (they have an accelerometer inside).

Microsoft has people working in the UK and the USA...
You're doing it hopelessly wrong.

How do you damage a server merely by sending it too many requests? Surely it should just shut down if it overheats?
People set up servers for a reason - because they want visitors. Shutting them down isn't really a 'cure'.
The New York State Legislature has been a complete retard rodeo for as long as I've been paying attention to it.
I'm waiting for a flurry of posts all made by "Republican Assemblyman Jim Conte"
We wanted free money!!
(pass me the tiny violin...)
Get yourself digitally signed by the government?
can plug on your TV or any monitor you have
Unless it has a VGA connector...
They'll take all the short term gains, you'll be left holding the long-term ones. They'll make as much in one day as you do in six months.
So? It's only a matter of time before the police find out and start asking for copies of the recordings. Any kind of camera is a downhill slope.
why? it doesn't increase safety.
Yes it does. The sort of person who doesn't have insurance probably doesn't care too much about a lot of other stuff, too, like maintenance, tire pressures, etc.

Wow, can't avoid forums for a week? Can't do something else for a WHOLE WEEK?
It's not a week, though is it? The show airs once per week so you have to do it all week, every week.
Option 4: Download it now then buy the DVD in a year's time to make things 'legal'.
Politicians can't make a career out of Guantanamo, they'd prefer most people not to know.
Wikileaks + Bradley manning? There's quite a few votes to be had there...
What keeps diesel engines from becoming a standard in the US?
Diesel is unpatriotic.
Aren't the "bad apples" supposed to be in the minority? The number of 'narcs' should therefore be the majority, right?
I've got a big scar on my left forearm where one of those metal straps broke and sliced it open (five stitches).
spray your geek scent on.
I that's what you're after then get one of these - real dip switches and a strap that looks like ribbon cable.

Don't worry. The government leaves an up-to-date copy of that in the back of random taxi every few months to make sure the scammers don't miss out.
