It could watch for people dialing the numbers of (eg.) online ticket sellers then just record the conversations. There's bound to be a credit card in there.
Outside of slashdot not many people care that they're using Internet Explorer instead of Netscape. They just want it to be cheap, to be sure it connects to Facebook.
I was going to write something like that as about the only thing I can think of that might impress a windows user - proper access to the processes which are running, real information about what's going on, etc.
Then there's proper file systems that don't constantly tell you files "can't be deleted because...".
Oh yeah, sed, awk and regex are going to convert Windows/Mac users to command line Linux.
Not.
Linux is for people who want to hack around and get to the guts of the OS because they're interested in that sort of thing. Everybody else is going to be too distracted by the fact that flash doesn't work properly.
The status bar can be hidden with two mouse clicks. Were people really having so much trouble with the "View->Status bar" option that the devs needed to take matters into their own hands?
Worse, they knew it was controversial and was going to piss off a lot of people but they did it anyway.
NASA adjusted the historical data to correct for "urban heat islands" a few years ago. No doubt you were in the crowd of ignorant voices who claimed it was "proof" that global warming was a lie.
Now you're claiming that they're ignoring the errors? Shame on you.
Well rested and happy people are far more productive than tired and unhappy people.
That depends more on the motivation than anything else. If you've really motivated to work then a 12-hour day is nothing.
Unfortunately "motivation" means more than some team-building exercises and free pizza twice a week. If the boss can't give everybody cars and stuff then he's going to have to give away shares in the company or something (and the programmers are going to have to believe it's going to be a big success).
What about people who never heard of "five finger pinch"? Are they supposed to read a manual before they can use it?
Seriously, I can't see this 'rumor' being true. Most likely it's just some viral marketing crap to get horrified Apple fans posting the word "iPad" all over the Internet the week before it launches.
Even so ... what happened to politeness and consideration for other passengers?
The taxpayers might be able to help out if they can see exactly where their money is being pissed away.

Cars have brakes to stop them. "Break" is a verb.
To most people "slow computer" is just one more thing to complain about around the water cooler.
Not much good for bashing at other swords/shields with though...
Read it and weep. I assume you're packing your bags already...

And has a working Flash player...
Can I finally have my glass sword then....?
All that story needs is for the Java classes to be sorted as XML inside a database.

You've not done much outsourcing, have you?

OK, so post a link to something you've done which is better....
I'm not sure the basement-dweller groks this "nightclub" thing.
1) You can hide it with two mouse clicks in the current version.
2) It's impossible to get in the new version.
Which of those options makes any sense to you...?

He probably knows his customers' profile quite well by now, and new yachts are soooo expensive.

Pesky facts here

Yep. If you're unemployed the correct attitude is to give *anything* a try. Anything at all.
The reasons are:
a) You can always quit
b) It gets you out of the house to meet other people and make contacts (maybe the telemarketing bosses' computer needs fixing...)
Nothing that's been said so far has made me rethink my original statement.
"I don't speak spanish and I refuse to learn to."
Why's that, then?
Statements like that make me suspect there's a reason you're being turned down.
Nope. I'm the kind of person who would look at the binder and think "they need to lower their standards to a more realistic level".
The budget got out of control through small increments, small decrements are what's needed to get it back again.
