If looks are all that matter, until you're able to afford that turntable, you can always just get out an old hard drive and run it with the inside uncovered.
The iPhone thing probably would have worked. But Google probably would have had to spend more than $40,000 USD to pay people to go out and look for balloons. UPS already has people going out everywhere.
"erating// employee rating" requires you to look in the comments of the declaration section in order to figure out what the variable does, whereas "organizationEmployeeRating" tells you what it is no matter where you see it in the code...
Don't worry. They won't be able to do this until you make banks.google.com your new bank account. Then their terms of service will allow them to automatically charge things for you. And you'll say it's okay because it's Google and you trust them.
Just imagine somebody who considers their browser to be a search engine. So they search through the search box on Firefox. Then the search box on Opera. Then the search box on Safari. They even try the web browser on their phone. And they keep getting the same results until they try Internet Explorer and finally get something different.
If you need help, press the key that says "F1". Don't get confused and type the "F" key followed by the "1" key.
First tip for a beginner in Linux:
Learning to use the "man" command is important, remember that you sometime have to add a number parameter to get the documentation that you want to get
Better yet, claim it's an mp3/mp4 encoder for linux with editing capabilities (or any other software sorely missing on Linux) and post it online. I'd bet half of the people who mock windows users for downloading and installing untrusted software would download this, type in their root password, and let it install.
As soon as I actually need my CPU to do some work, it starts to slow down? While it's quite able to run at full speed as long as it's idle and not doing anything sensible?
Are we talking about processors or Internet Service Providers?
Correct me if I'm wrong. I've never been a firefighter, but I'm pretty sure when they're off duty, they don't actually have to respond to calls. So this guy's situation is not like a firefighter. He definitely should be paid for on-call time because being on call means there are things he can't do. He can't go to another state, can't do anything that he can't get out of to answer a call, can't sleep for very long on days he gets a call. I don't know a good solution since jobs are so hard to get in this country, but I think the best thing he can do is spend all of his on-call time looking for a job that doesn't require him to be a slave.
Concerning the altering of a web browser to facilitate web apps, Microsoft did this a long time ago with Internet Explorer. And Mozilla tried to do it. If it was bad when they did it, how can it be good when Google does it?
Maybe the best way to shut the security companies up is to allow McAfee and Symantec to make antivirus software for the iPhone and let their customers see what that software does to iPhone performance. You know, let the customers decide between (being protected from possible viruses) and (being able to run any other app besides the antivirus)...
I think the racist overtones are the difference between the Michelle case and the Bush case. Because in the United States, racist people used to call Black people monkeys as a racial slur. If (they had used any animal other than a primate) and (they had used any word other than a racial slur), then there wouldn't be any difference between the Michelle case and the Bush case. I'm pretty sure if they had morphed her into a cat or a fish, there wouldn't have been an uproar.
That post was not offtopic. The "summary" asked Slashdot users how they feel about game development in college courses. That post answered the question and offered a reason, supporting the answer.
If the games themselves don't kill the graphics hardware fast enough, maybe engineers should look into other avenues, such as having the operating system use the graphics card for all kinds of unnecessary things, or even making the web browser use the graphics card for things it doesn't have to.
Do you and your friend know he can add three people to the Amazon Prime service and they can each get the free shipping with their own account after that?
I can't imagine many scenarios where I'd really ever text without looking just because there was some physical feedback.
Imagine there are other uses for touchscreens besides text messages. Like remote controls, in which you look to the television for visual feedback and the last thing you need is to have to look at the remote too...
What's irritating is, they actually force you to come up with a subject line to post a message. There should be a default subject line that is either relevant to the subject of the story or says something like [No Subject].
I think, Android will stay around and Chrome will die a slow death, because Android is being used in phones and Chrome is being used nowhere. Also, the battle for dominance in the (touchscreen phone that can run apps) market isn't as rough as the battle for dominance in the Linux market.

I fixed that problem. Just switch it from 45 to 78.
I think "glorified" does not mean you're the best. It means you've got the glory.

Yeah, they're going to charge an arm and a leg for this.
Just print them out.
The last time I heard about Comcast buying a TV channel, it was Tech TV and it did end in disaster...
Are you sure you haven't confused the cause with the effect?

They'll never catch on because the LCD's are brighter.

In other words, if Sony would make the PS3's ram upgradeable, they could seriously enter the server market...?
